Snickers candies: composition, calorie content, manufacturer

What do they usually take with them to school and eat during recess? What do you snack on on the way to university or work? What do you buy while in the store if you feel hungry and are far from home? These bars are always on display in supermarkets. Remember for yourself: every time you stand in line at the checkout, they are the ones who come into your field of vision. The variety of chocolates is simply amazing. “Snickers”, “Mars”, “Bounty”, as well as “Picnic”, “Nuts”, “Kit-Kat” bars... Let’s talk in more detail today about Snickers candies.

About Snickers

Snickers is one of the most popular chocolate bars both in America and Russia. This product has been manufactured by Mars, Incorporated since 1930. Every second person has probably tried this delicacy at least once in their life. Many people appreciate it because it is very nutritious. Even a fairly high calorie content cannot scare away consumers. Others love Snickers candies for their unique composition and filling. Let's study them.

Should you have a Snickers drink when you're hungry?

It's easy to get hooked by marketers into choosing compact, inexpensive fast food over traditional lunch. The latter requires time and material costs, and most working people have a shortage of both. What can Snickers “offer” to the consumer, to which manufacturers assign the role of not even a snack, but a full-fledged meal?

Initially, the dessert was advertised as an alternative to traditional sports nutrition. Peanuts, combined with lots of sugar and chocolate, can really create an “energy burst”, instantly restoring your strength after a workout. Having a snack like this, you can forget about hunger for several hours.

Thanks to the high content of nuts and dairy products, the chocolate bar is rich in calcium, sodium, fluoride and iron. It contains B vitamins necessary to maintain metabolic processes.

But the sweet offer from Mars Incorporated still cannot be called useful. The harm caused by the Snickers bar is much greater than the support it provides.

Caution - danger

Nutritionists categorically do not recommend “snickers” every day, refusing regular food. With this way of eating, the famous slogan “You are not you...” sounds like a warning. It is no wonder that those who are too lazy to prepare lunches and dinners, replacing them with high-calorie snacks, will have to change beyond recognition, adding extra pounds.

Eating sweet snacks provokes:

  • caries;
  • disturbances in the functioning of the cardiovascular system;
  • endocrine diseases;
  • oncology;
  • obesity.

Since 1930, the composition of chocolate has undergone changes for the worse; many chemical components have appeared in it that do not add health to sweet tooths. They are especially harmful for children, whose bodies have not yet learned to withstand the crushing flow of carcinogens.

Important: it is recommended to consume no more than 50 g of sugar per day. “Snickers” lovers of sweets get 30 g at once. This is such a blow to the heart and liver, plus a huge step towards diabetes.

Candy, when consumed frequently, becomes addictive because the body requires more and more releases of endorphins. And if you then make a strong-willed decision to give up sweets, real “withdrawal” occurs, accompanied by unpleasant symptoms: worsening mood, lethargy, apathy, loss of appetite.

This does not mean that from now on the legendary chocolate bar should be completely banned. But you need to “treat yourself” to it wisely, without relying on the mythical benefits promised by advertising. Moreover, after a short burst of energy, a noticeable loss of strength follows.

Snickers: Don't slow down - Snickers!

Snickers bar: nougat, peanuts, milk chocolate - these ingredients have remained unchanged since 1930. The candy bar produced by the American company Mars is in demand to this day, despite how many calories there are in Snickers.

The bar manufacturer's factory began to be built in 1929 in Chicago. Currently it produces 560 chocolates per minute. It is believed that the bar was named after the name of the family's favorite horse, Mars, because she died a couple of months before mass production began. It is unknown what the fate of the name would have been if not for this tragic incident.

They say that the idea for a chocolate bar came to the mind of the company's founder, Franklin Mars, when he bought chocolate for his son and it began to melt in his hands. Then he realized that chocolate with filling inside and wrapped in packaging was much more convenient to eat while walking.

At first, the bars were sold only in the UK and Ireland and were called “Marathon”, after they began to be sold throughout the world, they had one common name: “Snickers”.

Foreign candy bars: Mars, Snickers, Bounty, Twix, Celebrations, Milky Way... after the widespread shortage in 1992 in the Soviet Union, they compared favorably with domestic ones. It must be said that at first they were very expensive for the consumer, and if such a bar was bought, then it was a real holiday for the family, it was shared among the whole family; a piece for each. Well-organized media advertising contributed to its popularization. Gradually, the prevalence of Snickers grew, and the cost decreased.

There were analogues in the country - chocolate marshmallows, chocolate with filling. But they were not able to gain such popularity as Snickers.

Currently, Snickers are very popular, as they are also a filling snack.

The price of Snickers bars remains stable, although in 2005 in the UK they began selling bars whose weight decreased by 7 g; manufacturers explained this as a concern for customers so that they do not overeat.

Snickers is not just chocolate, it can rightfully be considered a symbol of pop culture. Sales of this bar alone amount to $2 billion. Advertising plays an important role in this. Everyone knows the slogans You are not you when you are hungry, Don’t slow down - have a snicker! . The main task of advertisers is to convince people of the nutritional value and benefits of the bar. They succeeded! Statistics show that every fifth teenager eats Snickers every day.

Snickers has always added roasted peanuts to the filling, but now you can buy Snickers with seeds, almonds and hazelnuts, Snickers covered in white chocolate, and they have also begun to produce ice cream and the Snickers drink.

Nowadays, culinary experts have already come up with Snickers cheesecake and Snickers cake pops, which taste similar to a Snickers chocolate bar.
