Carrots for weight loss: benefits and dietary recipes

The carrot diet can last 3, 7 or 10 days; there is an option for losing weight on vegetables for 14 days. This diet plan necessarily leads to weight loss, but it is very difficult to maintain without gastronomic breakdowns, and “side effects” include dizziness, loss of muscle mass, and intestinal upset.

The carrot diet has contraindications, and the main ones are diseases of the gastrointestinal tract such as gastritis, enteritis, gastric/duodenal ulcers.

During the seven-day carrot week, you can get rid of 11 kg if the initial weight was too high. On average, weight loss results are 4-5 kg in 7 days.

The essence of the carrot diet and the result

The carrot diet is one of the most accessible, simple ways to lose weight. Its essence is to limit the consumption of all familiar foods and introduce carrots into the menu, fresh, boiled or as drinks.

Nutritionists say that weight loss can be done in a more varied way: carrots are the basis, but the menu is additionally enriched with cottage cheese, apples, kefir, cabbage and other healthy foods. Depending on what type of diet is chosen, the expected results vary.

Diet name Duration Possible results
Carrot-apple 3 days, maximum – 10 Weight loss within 2-5 kg, depends on duration
Carrot-beetroot 10 days 5-7 kg
Carrot and cabbage 3 days 2, maximum 3 kg
Carrot-egg 3 days is the permissible maximum Up to 5 kg
Carrot-cucumber 7 days 4-5 kg
On Korean carrot salad Maximum 14 days The weight will be 3-6 kg

Pros and cons of the weight loss method

Like any other diet, the carrot diet has its advantages and disadvantages. The positive aspects stand out:

  • Availability. Carrots are cheap at any time of the year and are sold “on every corner.”
  • The presence of vitamins in the composition. Usually, on diets, it is their lack that negatively affects the condition of hair and nails; when you lose weight on carrots, your appearance only improves.
  • Beneficial effect on intestinal motility. A person relieves constipation; carrot fiber cleanses the walls of the organ from fecal deposits (stones).
  • Minimum time spent on cooking. In general, you can simply eat carrots fresh, grate them and add a drop of vegetable oil - this will take a maximum of 5 minutes.
  • The craving for sweets does not bother you. The vegetable contains enough sugars to be perceived by the body as a dessert.

But the disadvantages of the carrot diet include its imbalance and high likelihood of developing side effects:

  • nausea and dizziness;
  • apathy and decreased concentration;
  • often disturbing feeling of hunger;
  • diarrhea and excessive gas;
  • the appearance of yellow skin on the feet, palms and face;
  • loss of strength, quickly coming fatigue;
  • decrease in muscle mass.

We recommend reading about the benefits of beets for weight loss. From the article you will learn about the chemical composition of the vegetable, options for beet diets, recipes, and cooking rules to preserve the beneficial properties of the product. And here is more information about the beneficial properties and methods of preparing celery.

Useful properties of carrots

The orange vegetable is valued primarily for its beta-carotene, which in our body is transformed into vitamin A. This substance is used to improve vision and normalize metabolism. Beta-carotene strengthens hair and nails, and also has a positive effect on skin and bones. A weight loss system based on the consumption of carrots will not only guarantee a slim figure, but also a beautiful external image.

The root vegetable contains the following beneficial substances:

  • potassium;
  • phosphorus;
  • vitamins B, K, C, E;
  • fiber;
  • folic acid.

How carrots work for weight loss

Carrots for weight loss:

  • improves the metabolic process, makes it faster;
  • helps cleanse the intestines, prevents constipation;
  • characterized by long digestibility - it is slowly digested, giving a feeling of fullness for a long time;
  • activates the process of removing toxins from the body.

100 g of raw carrots are completely free of cholesterol and contain too little fat (only 0.1 g) and carbohydrates (no more than 7 g). The calorie content of the root vegetable is no more than 35 Kcal; the same numbers indicate the glycemic index of the product.

Chemical composition of the root vegetable:

  • vitamins B. K, E, C and A (beta-carotene);
  • potassium and folic acid;
  • phosphorus and fiber;
  • antioxidants.

Since carrots contain a large amount of vitamins and minerals, during the diet problems with appearance will not appear - the hair will remain silky and shiny, the nail plates will not lose their strength, and the skin will not become dry and flabby.

The latter generally have an anti-aging effect, stop the aging process and even reduce the likelihood of developing cancer.

Boiled carrots

Boiled carrots are digested even better than raw root vegetables, and their calorie content is much lower - only 26 kcal per 100 g of product.

It should be taken into account that the glycemic index of boiled carrots is higher - 85 , but it can be higher depending on the degree of grinding of the product. This means that after consumption, the blood sugar level will rise sharply and there will be a sudden “release” of insulin. And this leads to the transformation of glucose into fats, the rapid return of hunger, and this is a direct path to a gastronomic breakdown.

Nutritionists emphasize that eating foods with a high glycemic index on a diet is advisable only after intense training to restore lost calories.

Similar quality characteristics apply to stewed and steamed carrots. Therefore, you can lose weight in a “tasty and varied way” by eating not only boiled root vegetables. The stew has a particularly strong sweetish taste, and this feature can also be used for weight loss - when consuming such a product, cravings for sweets are reduced.

carrot juice

Experts do not recommend using carrot juice for active weight loss because it:

  • does not allow you to consume more than 1000 kcal per day, and this is catastrophically insufficient for the normal functioning of the body;
  • has an irritating effect on the gastric mucosa, which provokes heartburn and can lead to the development of gastritis;
  • It is absorbed very quickly due to fast sugars and within 30 minutes after consumption the feeling of hunger returns.

Carrot juice is a fairly powerful diuretic that will help remove excess fluid from the body. The urinary system will begin to work stably, and this will lead to the disappearance of edema, the removal of toxins and waste from the body, which will help normalize metabolic processes.

Nutritionists recommend using a carrot drink as an additional “element” in the process of losing weight - you can drink 250-300 ml of it 20 minutes before the main meal. This will make the feeling of hunger less intense and reduce the amount of food eaten.

Is a vegetable included in a healthy diet?

Due to its low calorie content, the vegetable is included in the menu according to the healthy nutrition system. But in order for carrot dishes to be truly healthy and promote weight loss, they should not be subjected to heat treatment (frying). As part of proper nutrition, you can prepare carrot soup according to the following recipe:

  1. Take 125 g of red lentils - they cook quickly and do not require pre-soaking. Rinse.
  2. Wash, peel and chop 200 g carrots, 1 onion, 50 g celery and 125 g cherry tomatoes. The carrots are grated on a coarse grater, the remaining vegetables are chopped into cubes, and the cherry tomatoes are simply divided into two parts.
  3. Place the prepared products in a saucepan and add water. The amount of liquid is determined individually, taking into account that the lentils increase slightly in size and the “output” should be soup, not stew.
  4. Food should be cooked for 20 minutes. The boil should be low, “boiling.”
  5. After the specified time, ½ teaspoon of fresh grated ginger, 2 thin rings of chili pepper, salt and other seasonings are added to the dish.

As soon as the soup has cooled a little, it should be pureed using a blender; when serving, add finely chopped parsley to the plate. You can pour ½ teaspoon of olive or any other vegetable oil into the plate.

Is it always possible to eat

Carrots cannot always be eaten even with a normal diet; there are clear contraindications for using the diet:

  • Diseases of the gastrointestinal tract of acute and chronic forms (with frequent relapses). Those who have already been diagnosed with gastritis with low/high acidity of gastric juice, peptic ulcer of the stomach/duodenal ulcer, colitis, enteritis should be especially careful.
  • Problems in the functioning of the cardiovascular system. This restriction applies only if you want to lose weight on a carrot diet - sharp restrictions can provoke an exacerbation of chronic pathologies and lead to fluctuations in blood pressure.
  • Diseases of the urinary and urinary systems. Carrots are considered a strong diuretic, this property is especially evident in carrot juice. If a person has a history of urolithiasis, then drinking a vegetable drink can provoke the movement of stones and blockage of the ureter.
  • The period of pregnancy planning, childbearing and breastfeeding. These conditions are contraindications to diets. But carrots and juice from them will be useful as part of a regular diet, because, first of all, they are fiber, which normalizes intestinal motility.

Any chronic disease is considered a conditional contraindication to the carrot diet; you will need to first consult with your doctor and make sure that this method of losing weight is safe.

Experts give several warnings:

  • It is strictly forbidden to drink carrot juice on an empty stomach. An hour before breakfast, you need to drink a glass of warm water, to which you can add a little honey.
  • If you have fair skin, you should not follow the carrot diet for more than 3 days. Beta-carotene contained in the vegetable will give the epidermis a jaundiced tint.
  • In the first 2 days, a person on a carrot diet may experience weakness, diarrhea and even mild dizziness and intestinal colic. Such conditions are considered normal, but if discomfort persists on the third day, then you should stop losing weight and seek advice from a nutritionist.

Opinion from the people

Reviews and results are mixed. While some are satisfied with this diet and return to it again, others regret the time wasted and write that they will never return to the “red” diet again.

The diet helped me!

Satisfied women note:

  • good mood, cheerfulness during the diet;
  • the tan at this time is especially beautiful;
  • the kilograms go away quickly;
  • the diet develops imagination - it turns out that you can cook many different dishes from carrots.

By the way: satisfied losers allowed themselves not only salads and cold cuts, but also cutlets from this red vegetable. Of course, if you fry them in oil (and even breaded), you won’t lose any kilos at such a dinner... Baking in the oven is another matter! For 100 g of finished cutlets you will get “as much as” 69 kcal! The correct recipe is here:

...And I was disappointed

According to dissatisfied people, the carrot diet:

  • not a panacea - weight returns quickly;
  • this is a constant feeling of hunger (not for everyone, but still);
  • not suitable if you do not have steel willpower;
  • has many contraindications (especially diabetes).

Important: This diet is based on a modest diet. If you feel unwell, before you start losing weight, you should consult a therapist or nutritionist (in a clinic, not on the Internet).

Carrot diet “11 kg in 7 days”

The carrot diet “minus 11 kg in 7 days” is a diet that includes more than just the main vegetable. The menu includes fruits and other vegetables, dairy products/low-fat drinks. Alcoholic drinks, sweets in any form and baked goods are prohibited.

Sample menu for 1 day
Morning (on an empty stomach)250 ml kefir 1% fat
Second breakfast (snack)carrot salad with apple and white cabbage
Dinnervegetable soup made from bell peppers, carrots, cabbage
Afternoon snack (snack)glass (maximum 300 ml) carrot-orange juice
Dinner1 piece of boiled beets and the same amount of medium-sized carrots
Second dinner (can be before bedtime)250 ml 1% kefir

It is quite difficult to survive a week on such a diet, so only a few agree to such a “feat”. Nutritionists warn that you need to closely monitor your well-being. Dizziness and weakness are considered normal only in the first 2 days of the diet; then they become symptoms of serious disorders.

If your weight is very high, then losing 11 kg in 7 days is quite possible, but more often a loss of 4-6 kg is recorded over the same period.

Menu

The mono-diet can last 3, 4, 7 or 10 days, depending on the desired result. It makes no difference what duration of the carrot diet you choose; the recommendations presented above will help you achieve greater results.

For 3 days

The duration of the shortest weight loss program using carrots is 3 days. During this time, up to 3 kilograms disappears. During the specified time you will have to eat only orange vegetables. You can consume it raw or cooked in unlimited form, and also take enough liquid.

To facilitate the functioning of the gastrointestinal tract, it is recommended to grate carrots.

You can eat fresh vegetable juice, but it contains less fiber than whole fresh root vegetables. If you wish, you can add variety to the boring carrot diet and eat a salad at one of your meals, to prepare which, add pieces of your favorite fruit (apple, grapefruit, orange, etc.) to a kilogram of grated carrots and sprinkle with lemon juice. To ensure that all the elements that make up the vegetable are perfectly absorbed by the body, it is not forbidden to combine its use with a tablespoon of olive oil or a couple of tablespoons of low-fat sour cream.

There is only one downside, as with most mono-diets: it’s not the fat layer that goes away, but the water, which will return over time if you don’t follow the regime and eat junk food. Often this option is chosen by those girls who do not need to lose kg, but remove accumulated toxins from the body. The carrot diet menu is unbalanced, so stretching the program for more than 3 days can lead to unpleasant consequences.

For 4 days

The three-day marathon can be extended for another day, in which you should add a slice of rye bread and baked potatoes to the carrots. During the entire event you can get rid of 4 kilograms. Don't forget to stay hydrated - drink water, green or herbal tea. On the fifth day, you can switch to your usual menu, limiting your consumption of fatty, starchy and sweet foods.

For 7 days

Not many people decide to undertake a weekly weight loss program, because it is not easy to maintain. However, feedback from those who once chose it and got rid of 5-6 kilograms can be an incentive, and some even talk about the result of minus 11 kg in 7 days. The menu, in addition to root vegetables, includes fruits, vegetables and soups made from them, low-fat fermented milk products (no more than a liter per day). You will have to give up alcohol, sweets and flour.

Sample menu for the day

Breakfast:

  • 250 ml kefir.

Lunch:

  • carrot and cabbage salad with apple.

Dinner:

  • vegetable soup made from carrots, bell peppers and white cabbage.

Afternoon snack:

  • carrot-orange mix.

Dinner:

  • boiled carrots and beets.

Before bedtime:

  • 250 ml fermented milk drink.

For 10 days

For those who are determined and want to lose up to 5 kg, a carrot diet designed for 10 days is suitable. For one and a half weeks of this weight loss program, you are allowed to eat carrot salad, seasoned with a small amount of low-fat sour cream. You can prepare it not only from raw root vegetables, but also from boiled ones for variety. It is advisable to drink water or green tea, and you should also drink about a liter of orange juice.

Carrot diet for 3 days

Eating only carrots and losing 2-3 extra pounds – that’s what the carrot diet promises for 3 days. Nutritionists warn that such weight loss occurs solely due to the removal of excess fluid and toxins from the body, while fat deposits remain “untouched.”

For 3 days you can eat only carrots - you can boil them, but it is better to give preference to raw vegetables, grated on a coarse or fine grater. To prevent the product from becoming boring, you can prepare a salad:

  • grate 1 kg of raw carrots on a coarse grater;
  • add kiwi, apple, grapefruit or orange, cut into small cubes or strips, to the vegetable mass;
  • add a few drops of lemon juice to the dish;
  • Season the salad with sour cream with a minimum percentage of fat content.

For variety, instead of sour cream, you can season the salad with a mixture of lemon juice, honey and olive oil (1 teaspoon of each ingredient). The menu for 1 day could be like this:

  • breakfast – carrot salad;
  • second breakfast – carrot-beetroot/cabbage or pumpkin juice;
  • lunch – carrot salad with sour cream;
  • afternoon snack – a glass of unsweetened green tea;
  • dinner – carrot salad with vegetable oil dressing.

This three-day diet is a mono-diet, so it is strictly not recommended to exceed its duration. The menu is not balanced, and already on the 5th day the body will begin to experience a lack of carbohydrates, fats, and minerals.

Contraindications

Positive reviews do not change the fact that a mono-diet is a serious stress for the body as a whole, and it is not suitable for everyone. If you are not in excellent health, then such a diet can cause serious damage to your cardiovascular and digestive system. Contraindications for the carrot diet are liver and gastrointestinal diseases, peptic ulcers, intestinal or kidney disorders. Consult your doctor and stop the diet immediately if you feel your health has worsened.

How to eat carrots on a diet: recipes

On a diet, carrots can be eaten simply raw or boiled, grated or cut into cubes, but there are also specific recipes for dietary dishes. They will allow you to diversify your menu and make dieting less difficult. All carrot dishes should be prepared immediately before consumption.

Salads

Doctors advise eating salads as a first or second breakfast, and if they are not seasoned with sour cream/yogurt, then for dinner. The simplest, healthiest and most accessible recipes are:

  • Carrots with white cabbage. Grate the carrots on a coarse or fine grater, chop the cabbage into thin strips, and chop the onion into half rings. All ingredients are mixed, vegetable oil, lemon juice and pepper/salt are added to the mixture to taste. You can add any finely chopped greens to the dish. You can season the salad with sour cream with a minimum percentage of fat or natural yogurt.
  • From boiled carrots . The vegetable is boiled together with several cloves of garlic until tender, then cut into large cubes. Add ground black pepper, lemon juice, vegetable oil and salt to taste to the carrots; you can chop and add 1-2 cloves of garlic to the dish. Before eating, this salad should steep for 1 hour. It is better to cook it from warm, almost hot, carrots - it will absorb all the flavors of the seasonings.
  • With beets (“Pastelka”) . Grate fresh carrots, beets and black radishes for Korean salads. Add 1-2 cloves of garlic, vegetable oil, and spices to taste. An excellent solution would be to use pumpkin oil for the dish - for a salad of 300 g, 1 teaspoon is enough for dressing. Additionally, you can flavor everything with lemon juice. Instead of black radish, you can use white cabbage, shred it into thin strips.

Cottage cheese with carrots

As a dietary dish, you can use raw carrots grated on a coarse grater and cottage cheese - they are simply mixed in a bowl, a small amount of low-fat sour cream or natural yogurt and any spices are added. This “salad” can be eaten for breakfast and lunch, but it is better to avoid such a dish for dinner.

Cottage cheese with carrots will be useful for weight loss and in the form of a casserole. To prepare it you will need:

  • cottage cheese 150 g (maximum 9% fat);
  • 1 egg;
  • 20 g sugar (level tablespoon);
  • sour cream 20% - tablespoon (about 20 g);
  • semolina 15 g (heaped tablespoon);
  • carrots 50 g;
  • milk 50 ml;
  • butter 1 tablespoon;
  • vanilla to taste.

Rub the cottage cheese through a sieve, grate the carrots on a fine grater (not puree), mix everything and add the egg yolk, semolina, and sugar. Beat the egg white with a mixer and add this mass to the “dough”. Mix everything carefully and place in the mold, after greasing it with butter. The casserole is baked for 15-20 minutes at a temperature of 200 degrees. Served with sour cream.

With apple

For variety, you can prepare a carrot and apple salad - the taste is quite interesting, can be used as a dessert and eaten as an afternoon snack or as a second breakfast. What should be done:

  1. Peel and grate medium-sized carrots on a coarse grater.
  2. Peel 2 apples (if desired) and cut into thin strips.
  3. Sprinkle the apples with lemon juice and stir - this will protect the fruit from darkening in the air.
  4. Combine carrots and apples in a bowl, add 1 tablespoon of natural yogurt to them.
  5. Add ground cinnamon and sugar to taste.

You can add salt and vegetable oil to the same salad, and apples can also be added as an additional component to a dietary casserole with cottage cheese.

With kefir

Carrots and kefir can be consumed in a simple combination - it will be a kind of salad. But it’s much more interesting to prepare a diet “cake” - it’s tasty, good for your figure, and relieves stress from the lack of sweets in your diet. To prepare it, you will need the following products:

  • 2 eggs and 100 g carrots;
  • 3 tablespoons oat bran and 4 tablespoons oatmeal;
  • 4 tablespoons of kefir 1% fat;
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking powder and vanillin.

Grind the oatmeal in a blender to a powder (flour), grate the carrots on a medium grater. Mix all the ingredients and pour the mixture into the mold, greasing it with vegetable oil.

The cake is baked at 180 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Then let the cake cool slightly and cut it horizontally into two parts. For the cream, mix 400 g of cottage cheese, 100 ml of natural yogurt, sugar and coconut flakes (the latter components are taken to taste, but without fanaticism).

The cake is smeared with cream and decorated with almonds or walnuts in the form of petals. The dessert should soak for 10-12 hours in a cool place.

What is good about this well-known vegetable?

I'm sure you can answer this question without hesitation: carrots are a source of beta-carotene! From it, fat-soluble vitamin A is synthesized in our gastrointestinal tract, which is beneficial for hair, nails, skin and eyes. Only fish oil and beef liver contain more vitamin A than carrots. Due to its toxicity, the liver of animals such as polar bear or moose should not be eaten. Even one hundred grams of this “delicacy” can be fatal.

100 grams of carrots contain 2000 micrograms of provitamin A, with the daily requirement for humans ranging from 800 to 1500 micrograms. Isn't it too much? No! Fortunately, this vegetable contains our vitamin in the form of carotenoids and coloring pigments. Most of it is safely excreted in the intestines along with plant fiber. You may not absorb anything at all if you eat carrots alone, without fat (vegetable oil or sour cream). I talk about the meaning of fats in Lesson No. 4 “Fats”

What else is there in our wonderful orange root vegetable:

  • potassium, calcium, phosphorus;
  • sulfur;
  • vitamins C, B, E, K, PP;
  • Sahara;
  • fiber and insoluble fiber;
  • antioxidants;
  • only 30-32 kilocalories (depending on the variety and sugar content).

Many substances are easier to digest if the root vegetable is boiled or baked, but then the amount of fast carbohydrates in it increases. Therefore, it is considered useful to use raw carrots for the diet.

Carrot-apple diet

The carrot-apple diet is aimed at cleansing the body of waste, toxins and excess fluid. It can last 3-10 days, during which nutritionists recommend drinking 2 liters of clean water per day. While following the carrot-apple diet, you should limit mental and physical activity, but do not neglect walking in the fresh air.

Diet for 3 days

Its essence lies in the daily consumption of 500 g of fresh carrots and 1 kg of apples. The products are crushed and seasoned with lemon juice. The resulting volume of “salad” is divided into 4-5 equal portions and consumed throughout the day.

It is advisable to visit a bathhouse or sauna these days to speed up the removal of toxins and waste from the body. Pain in the epigastric region of the abdomen (anatomical location of the stomach) may occur; this should be a reason to stop losing weight and consult a doctor.

For 7 days

The menu of the carrot-apple diet for a week is more varied, it allows you to get rid of 2-5 kg and remove excess fluid from the body.

Sample menu for 1 day
Morning2 fresh or baked apples with honey and nuts
Day100 g boiled meat or fish, 100 g low-fat cottage cheese, carrot salad with olive oil
Evening1 large apple

The same diet can be used for a carrot-apple diet for 10 days, but in this case fermented milk products are added to the menu to prevent health deterioration from a lack of protein.

The essence of the diet

Carrots are a natural source of natural vitamins and microelements. The vegetable contains important vitamins, microelements, as well as related components:

  • S, R, E, K, V;
  • Iodine, magnesium, potassium, zinc, iron, phosphorus, cobalt;
  • Fiber;
  • Essential oils.

Carrots are the leader among vegetables in terms of carotene content, second only to pepper.

Once in the body, carotene is converted into vitamin A; it plays a major role in oxidative processes and the prevention of eye diseases. Vitamin A helps cell regeneration, stretch marks and sagging skin do not form during the diet, and the condition of bones and muscles improves.

Vitamin K improves blood clotting and helps remove toxins from the body. Iodine helps the thyroid gland. Fiber improves intestinal function and rids the body of excess cholesterol. Eating this vegetable improves the functioning of the heart, blood vessels, liver, and kidneys. The diet helps remove waste and toxins from the body, activates metabolism, and improves immunity.

Carrot-cabbage diet

The carrot and cabbage diet was approved by Paul Bragg, a famous nutritionist who actively promotes proper nutrition and a healthy lifestyle. The essence of such weight loss is to eat a vegetable salad, which will “work” as a brush for the gastrointestinal tract, cleansing it of toxins, waste, and fecal deposits.

It is recommended to stick to this diet for no more than 3 days in a row, during which time you will be able to get rid of 2-3 kg.

Things to remember:

  • During the day, you are allowed to eat a salad of carrots, white cabbage and green apples - they are taken in quantities of 500 g, crushed and flavored with ground black pepper, lemon juice and vegetable oil.
  • It is better not to add salt to the salad. To improve its taste, you can use your favorite seasonings and spices.
  • For breakfast, the salad is complemented with 1 piece of whole grain bread and a cup of green tea without sugar.
  • For lunch, the salad is served with a small piece (150 g) of boiled white poultry or lean fish. The drink is black tea without sugar, but you can add a spoonful of honey.
  • For dinner, the salad is eaten with 1 boiled chicken egg (soft-boiled).

Will carrots for dinner help you lose weight?

If you eat carrots for dinner during classic weight loss, this will also help reduce body weight. We are talking about standard dietary restrictions: reducing portions, avoiding sweets and fatty foods in the afternoon, and so on. In this case, dinner can be replaced with carrots and dishes made from them (dietary), which will give the following results:

  • the total daily caloric intake will not be exceeded;
  • in the evening there will be no feeling of hunger - the vegetable takes a long time to digest;
  • Night cravings for sweets will disappear;

You can lose 5 kg in 3 days on a diet of carrots and eggs. Of course, this will only remove waste, toxins and excess fluid from the body, but such cleansing will help prepare for long-term dietary restrictions, give a “impetus” to fat burning processes, empty the intestines and prevent the development of constipation.

The essence of the diet is to eat for breakfast and dinner a dish of 1 boiled egg (chopped), 1 medium fresh carrot (grated) and 1 dessert spoon of sour cream. Dinner is cancelled, and instead of food you can drink any amount of pure water or green tea without sugar or milk.

After finishing a three-day diet, you cannot immediately introduce high-calorie foods into the menu, because in this case the lost kilograms will return and new extra ones will appear.

A little history

Carrots, as a main element in weight loss, have been used since ancient times. However, then it was used only for medicinal purposes to combat diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, respiratory system, and constipation. Even then, the positive effect of carrots on vision was noticed. We used it with olive oil.

The modern carrot diet was developed by the Bulgarian healer Peter Dimkov. His main goal was to create a nutrition system that would quickly and efficiently normalize digestion. During the period of eating carrots, the body is cleansed of toxins, increases efficiency, and the process of losing weight is easier.

Exit rules

In order for the carrot diet not only to be effective, but also to serve as an impetus for further weight loss, you need to properly return to your normal diet. Nutritionists recommend:

  • On days 4, 8 and 11 of the carrot diet (depending on the duration), introduce 1-2 small boiled jacket potatoes into the diet.
  • Only on the 3rd day after the end of the diet can you eat other vegetables in stewed, boiled, baked form. The main dishes remain fresh vegetable dishes, casseroles and salads.
  • On the 5th day, it is allowed to introduce boiled lean meat into the diet, but in limited quantities, porridge with water and without butter.
  • Fried foods, desserts/sweets can be introduced into the diet only 10-15 days after finishing the carrot diet.
  • Water balance must continue to be maintained - 2 liters of clean water per day is a must.

The right way out of the diet

To consolidate the results obtained, a correct exit from the diet is necessary. The day after completing the course, nutritionists recommend eating a piece of rye bread and some potatoes, but not fried, of course, but baked or boiled. After this, low-fat fermented milk products are included in the menu and meat is gradually added.

In the following days, try to limit your intake of fatty and sweet foods, but do not completely eliminate carrots from your diet. The body, which has experienced stress during the period of food restrictions, will begin to put all the extra calories into unnecessary kilograms. So be careful when you go out!

The period of leaving the diet takes about a week.
