Why do you need a body scrub?
Every woman knows the answer to this question. Thanks to its abrasive composition, this product is able to exfoliate the stratum corneum of the skin. Thus, metabolic processes are accelerated, and the skin becomes soft and velvety. It is necessary to exfoliate before waxing, wrapping or applying a quick tan.

Is it possible to make a homemade body scrub?

Women usually buy cosmetics. In some cases, this ends up costing money. Then you should make a scrub at home. It will be even more useful, because all components will be thoroughly tested, no unnecessary or harmful additives. This product will be more useful, especially if your skin is sensitive.

Scrubbing agents can be made in large or small sizes. It all depends on personal preferences and the characteristics of the epidermis. Prepare a scrub from those products that are always on hand. Some remedies must be done immediately before the procedure.

Homemade scrubs must contain not only scrubbing particles, but also a softening base.

Hardware treatment of cellulite

Anti-cellulite massage - salvation from the “orange peel”. The most effective is a hardware method with the ability to work on the deepest fat deposits and large areas of the body.

Vacuum roller massage is a cosmetic procedure, a type of hardware massage. During the session, fat deposits are simultaneously removed by vacuum and the mechanical action of massage rollers. A double blow to cellulite helps remove the “orange peel” at any stage, rejuvenate the body and lose weight by reducing the size of fat cells and removing puffiness.

Operating principle of vacuum roller massage

A fold of skin with signs of cellulite is placed under a special attachment. A vacuum appears underneath. Back pressure expands venous and lymphatic vessels, activates the outflow of interstitial fluid, removes swelling, and activates tissue trophism. Moving the rollers of the nozzle over the skin additionally breaks down fatty deposits, increases skin firmness and elasticity, heats the surface, and gives a lifting effect.

How to use a scrub correctly?

It is necessary to understand that the scrubbing process deprives the skin of natural protection that can be produced by the subcutaneous glands. This is why it is not recommended to use a scrub often. If the skin is dry, then no more than once every two weeks; for oily skin, use the product once a week.

Apply the scrub to damp skin, which should be slightly steamed. Otherwise, there will not be such a maximum effect. Then the body is lubricated with creams, be it moisturizing or nourishing. If the body scrub is with oil, you should wait about five minutes for best absorption.

Tips and contraindications

However, let's return to the classic body scrubs - the heroes of our today's material. Before you go to the store for a jar of scrub, you should listen to the recommendations given by professionals.

1. Attention to the composition! The exfoliating particles included should be tailored to your skin type. Natural ones are more suitable for those with oily and normal skin, but for dry skin, give preference to more gentle synthetic granules. 2. It would be nice if the chosen product contained additional caring substances (see above). The composition, rich in natural ingredients, indicates that the manufacturer cares about nourishing your skin. 3. Try to purchase multifunctional scrubs that can perform several tasks at once: exfoliate, nourish, smooth and tighten the silhouette, so as not to spend extra money on numerous products with a narrow focus.

Like any other cosmetics, body scrubs, in addition to a lot of positive properties, also have a number of contraindications:

• damage, rashes or inflammation in the active phase; • dermatological diseases during exacerbation; • sun and other burns; • individual intolerance to the components included in the composition; • recent surgical interventions; • just done hair removal; • a visit to the solarium planned for the days immediately after using the scrubs; • blood vessels are located too close to the surface of the skin.

Coffee body scrub

Scrub made from ground coffee is loved by many girls. It has an excellent anti-cellulite effect, is used for weight loss, and can tone. And it generally smells delicious. Let's try to do:

  1. Take 100 grams of ground coffee beans. Add a little boiled water to make a thick mass.
  2. Keep the mixture for fifteen minutes. Preferably under a lid.
  3. If desired, add a tablespoon of any vegetable oil. The effect can be enhanced by essential oils, especially bergamot, rosemary or citrus fruits.
  4. Store the product in the refrigerator.
  5. The procedure should not be delayed; five to eight minutes is enough. Then the scrub is washed off with water.

Features of the procedure

You need to prepare in advance for honey wraps against cellulite at home. It is better to set aside time for them in the evening, before bed. After the manipulation, it is better to relax and have a good rest. This way the tissues will better absorb nutritional components. After dinner you need to wait a couple of hours. You should not do wraps on a full stomach.

Preparation

First you need to prepare a paste for manipulation. Any honey in which fermentation processes have been completed is suitable for this. Such a product does not pour out of the spoon, but wraps around it when rotated.

Sweetness without impurities completely dissolves in water, making it slightly cloudy, but leaving no sediment. If the color is uneven and contains areas of dark and light shades, then the raw material has been subjected to heat treatment and has lost some of its beneficial properties.

After the honey has been selected, it must be placed in a heat-resistant glass container, heated in a steam bath to 40°C, and the rest of the mask ingredients must be added. Cool the pasta to a comfortable temperature.

Be sure to conduct an allergy test - lubricate a small area of the dermis on the wrist or back of the elbow with the prepared mixture. If after half an hour no redness, irritation, or rashes appear, there is no allergy, the product can be used.

The body also needs to be prepared for the impact. Steam in a sauna or hot bath (for cold procedures, just take a shower). Scrub the affected area to thoroughly clean the pores. Massage the problem area using rubbing, kneading, pinching movements. After this, you can proceed directly to the session.

Wrapping process

The procedure should be carried out according to the following scheme:

  1. Distribute the paste over areas with cellulite in a dense, even layer. The skin should be slightly damp.
  2. Wrap yourself in film. If you don’t have a special one, it’s acceptable to use food grade one.
  3. Put on warm leggings or cover yourself with a blanket.
  4. Lie down in a relaxed state for the time prescribed for a specific procedure. It cannot be exceeded.
  5. Wash off the remaining mask under a warm shower without using soap or gel.
  6. Treat your body with moisturizing or anti-cellulite cream.

Attention: during the honey wrap you may feel a slight tingling sensation. There is no need to worry - this is normal.

Before the session, it is advisable to drink a glass of green tea or herbal decoction. This way the liquid will be more intensively removed from the fibers.

Chocolate body scrub

Chocolate fights skin aging and immediate dryness. Dark chocolate is considered the ideal option. This product is used for wraps: apply the product to the body, wrap it in cling film and leave for about half an hour. The chocolate scrub can be stored for a long time in the refrigerator.

  1. Take a bar of dark chocolate and grate it.
  2. Add white sugar (three tablespoons).
  3. Add oils: three tablespoons of almond extract, two drops of cinnamon and orange esters.
  4. Mix.
  5. The skincare product is ready.

Beneficial features

Anti-cellulite scrub has many beneficial properties that have a beneficial effect on the body:

  1. Opens pores . The scrub, cleansing the skin of dead particles, dirt and sebum, opens the pores and promotes cellular respiration.
  2. Removes toxins . Thanks to the massage movements performed during scrubbing, lymph flow improves, harmful substances and excess fluid are removed from the body.
  3. Maintains youthful skin . The product removes the upper layer of the dermis, stimulating the regeneration process and increasing skin turgor.
  4. Speeds up metabolism . By treating the skin with a scrub, you can significantly speed up metabolic processes, which will help quickly get rid of the “orange peel.”

Note! Scrubbing alone is not enough to get your body in order. The greatest anti-cellulite effect can be achieved with an integrated approach, including proper nutrition and physical activity.

The best recipes for home care products

Homemade scrubs are good in two ways: they are effective and inexpensive. We invite you to try the following recipes and choose the best one.

We recommend: What types of scrubs are there?

Classical

Our mothers and grandmothers also used coffee grounds scrub, so the recipe can be considered a true folk classic. To prepare it you will need only two ingredients :

  • Ground coffee or coffee cake - 2 tbsp. l. (quantity can vary depending on needs).
  • Shower gel – 2 tbsp. l.

Mix the components in equal proportions and begin the procedure.

An anti-cellulite scrub will be more effective if applied to steamed skin, so use it after taking a hot bath or warm shower.

You can also add cinnamon and essential oils to this scrub. This recipe is described here:

Honey

The procedure of scrubbing the skin with a honey-based product causes very specific tactile sensations. Honey sticks to the palms and skin, forcing you to make an effort and do a deep massage. Honey scrub works in several directions at once :

  1. Tightens the skin (the effect is similar to cosmetic lifting procedures).
  2. Normalizes water-salt balance, accelerating the process of fat breakdown.
  3. Saturates tissues with macro- and microelements.

To prepare the composition you will need:

  • Candied honey – 1 tbsp. l. (it contains more abrasive particles).
  • Oatmeal – 3 tbsp. l.

Reference! If the honey is too thick, dilute it with cream. Full-fat dairy products are good at moisturizing dry skin that is prone to flaking.

Mix the ingredients. Massage the problem areas thoroughly, and if there is a need to moisturize the skin, leave the composition for a few minutes. After the procedure, it is better to rinse the honey scrub with warm water or take a contrast shower.

Saline

Regular table salt is an excellent tool for exfoliating dead epithelial particles and massage. Sea salt not only scrubs, but also saturates the skin with iodine, magnesium and iron .

There are several options for salt scrub for cellulite:

  • Salt + honey – used for pronounced cellulite.
  • Sea salt + coffee cake – perfectly tightens sagging skin.
  • Salt + sugar + oil – suitable for sensitive skin prone to irritation.
  • Salt + lemon zest + olive oil – exfoliation and aromatherapy. Excellent for relaxing muscles and calming nerves. Use with caution for people with sensitive skin and open wounds.

With added sugar

A sugar scrub works similarly to a salt scrub, but do not rush to empty the sugar bowl - cane sugar is best suited for the procedures. It is he who can not only exfoliate the skin, but also nourish it with vitamins and microelements.

In the process of applying the scrub to the skin, its grains melt, which allows you to create a smooth transition from hard peeling to a soft range. If you don’t need the transition, wear gloves or apply the composition using a massage glove/brush.

The standard composition of a homemade sugar scrub includes::

  • Cane sugar – 1 cup.
  • Base oil (sunflower, olive, grape seed) – half a glass.
  • Orange essential oil – 10 drops.

All of the above ingredients must be mixed and applied to prepared skin. The effect will be especially obvious if you first massage the problem areas with a dry brush along the lymph flow lines.

With unusual additives

Now let's move on to less popular, but no less effective components for preparing an orange peel scrub at home.

  • Grains and cereals . Oatmeal, rice, buckwheat, fruit and berry seeds - just pass them through a coffee grinder or brander to get an abrasive base.
  • Dried medicinal plants . Grinding dry plants cleanses the skin and normalizes lymph flow. They should first be crushed and mixed with fine salt.
  • Dry seaweed . A real storehouse of vitamins and microelements. They prevent swelling and also promote active weight loss by removing excess fluid.
  • Fruit puree . Acts like an acid peel. For this purpose, grapefruit and pineapple, which contain bromelain, an enzyme that breaks down fat deposits, are most often used.
  • Cosmetic clay . Makes the skin dense and elastic, saturating it with oxygen and removing decay products. White clay is suitable for sensitive skin, blue - for problematic and oily skin, green - for age-related and puffy skin, red - for dry and allergy-prone skin, and yellow - for skin that has lost its tone.
  • Cocoa powder . Stimulates natural collagen production, prolonging youth. Contains valuable acids that have a tonic effect: linoleic, stearic and oleic.
  • Spices . Mustard powder, cinnamon, vanilla, ground pepper - almost every housewife has all this in her kitchen. As abrasive additives, they make the skin firm and elastic.
