7 petals diet: menu for every day, reviews and results

The 7 Petals Diet is a revised version of Anna Johansson's famous 6 Petals Diet. The basis of this diet is the daily alternation of protein and carbohydrate mono-diets. Mono (from the word one) means that you should eat only one food, and in the case of the petal diet, one food for one day. The essence of the diet is alternating protein and carbohydrate days , which does not allow the body to relax, and it independently begins to consume fat reserves to obtain the necessary energy.

The diet is short-lived - only seven days , during which you can say goodbye to 3-5 kg of excess weight, and by repeating the diet you can increase the result to 10 kilograms.

Note! You should not follow this diet for several weeks in a row, because, like many diets, 7 petals is not balanced, and long-term use can cause harm to your health. It would be optimal to go through the first round, that is, go on a diet for 7 days, take a break of 3-4 weeks, and then repeat the diet again.

The essence of the diet and its effect on the body

Following the 7 Petal Diet will require some effort.
This is a special weight loss system developed by Anna Yuhanson. It involves alternating carbohydrate and protein days, ensuring cleansing of the body, activation of metabolic processes, removal of excess fluid and breakdown of subcutaneous fat.

The system refers to mono-diets, but with an interesting menu: the diet changes every day, but is always based on one group of products.

Flaws

Before sitting on the “7 Petals”, you need to consider some disadvantages:

  • Return of lost kilograms. The weight loss program involves the removal of excess, stagnant water, as well as the depletion of muscle mass to a greater extent than the breakdown of fat deposits, so if it is not done correctly, the kilograms lost with such difficulty can come back with reinforcement.
  • Insufficient supply of nutrients to the body. “Seven Petals” is a mono-diet, which inevitably results in a lack of certain nutrients in the body.
  • Difficulty getting through some days. While periods on meat and vegetables can still be “survived,” then, for example, not everyone can survive a fasting day on cottage cheese.
  • A possible side effect is weakness. This occurs due to a sharp decrease in blood sugar levels due to the rejection of fatty and sweet foods.

Who is it not suitable for?

Any strict diet is stressful for the body. If the body of a healthy person is able to bear such a load without dangerous consequences, then if there are disorders, losing weight can lead to dangerous complications. The list of contraindications includes:

  • any pathologies of the digestive tract (gastritis, ulcers, colitis, dysbacteriosis);
  • childhood and adolescence;
  • elderly age;
  • severe forms of anemia;
  • pregnancy, lactation period;
  • intense physical and mental stress.

The diet is contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation.

Table of permitted and prohibited products

Before making a list of dishes for the week, it is worth studying the list of allowed and prohibited foods.

Despite the fact that the diet menu changes every day, the body still does not receive enough nutrients. Therefore, it is recommended to take vitamin and mineral complexes daily - this will prevent the development of complications. Water balance is also important - to maintain normal functioning, the body must receive at least 1.5 liters of liquid (preferably pure still water) per day.

While losing weight, you must adhere to the drinking regime.

Advantages

Why should you give preference to this diet? If you compare it with other weight loss programs, it is worth highlighting several significant advantages:

  • Rapid weight loss. Just one week is enough to become 5-8 kilograms lighter. To date, these are some of the best results in such a short time. Similar results can be obtained on the Maggi diet, etc.
  • Ease of preparation and preparation of products and dishes. Each day is assigned a specific category of products, which greatly simplifies the process of preparing the diet. This advantage is especially important for those who do not have enough free time.
  • Effective intestinal cleansing. The products provided by the nutritional system have a beneficial effect on the functioning of the gastrointestinal tract, and also gently rid its organs of harmful deposits. If you add flax seeds to your menu, the cleaning process will be much more effective.
  • Varied menu. Don’t pay attention to the fact that every day is a specific product. It can always be prepared in different ways by adding other permitted items. And don’t forget that the main component of the diet changes every day. It definitely won't be boring.
  • Availability. The weight loss program includes only products that are accessible to everyone. There will be no exotic fruits or expensive seafood. Everything you need from the list can be purchased at a nearby store.

Seven-flowered to alleviate the psychological factor

Compared to other mono-diets, this weight loss system is easier to tolerate, because...
The menu changes daily and the food doesn't get boring. But the body receives much less energy, and many favorite foods will have to be abandoned, and this can affect a person’s emotional state. It is recommended to use seven flowers as psychological support during weight loss.

You need to cut out 7 large petals from paper, paint them all with different colors. You should write a daily meal plan on the sheets and hang them on the refrigerator (or other convenient place), placing them in a circle in the shape of a flower.

Before starting the diet, you should cut out a chamomile with 7 petals from paper, writing the names of the products on them.

In the evening of each day you need to remove 1 petal. This simple technique allows you to visually track your success and feel satisfaction from the procedure.

Contraindications to compliance

The weight loss plan is not suitable for everyone. It is recommended to abandon the 7 petals diet if a woman is forced to adhere to a medical diet due to a health condition. The ban is also imposed in the presence of hypertension, gastrointestinal, liver and kidney diseases.

The 7 Petals Diet is quite strict. During it, the body does not receive all the necessary substances. This can affect your health. A complex mono-diet can provoke depression, headaches and loss of strength. If the symptoms are pronounced and do not disappear on their own within 1-2 days, you should stop following the weight loss method and undergo an examination.

Daily menu for the “7 petals” diet

This diet involves a daily change of diet - by and large, these are 7 mono-diets that alternate with each other. The menu for each day is compiled individually.

The main thing is not to forget that carbohydrate days should be replaced by protein days and vice versa.

Fish Day

The weight loss system begins with a protein day. On the first day you can only eat fish and seafood. In order to achieve a more pronounced effect, it is better to use low-fat fish (cod, pollock, hake). Food can be baked, boiled, but not fried. An example menu might look like this:

  • in the morning: steamed salmon fillet (about 200 g);
  • snack: a cup of herbal tea without additives or sweeteners;
  • for lunch: broth prepared with any fish;
  • dinner: boiled chum salmon fillet.

Another option:

  • breakfast: 150 g of boiled pollock;
  • lunch: berry broth (no sugar);
  • lunch: 200 g hake soup (with boiled fish fillet);
  • evening: trout baked in foil with herbs.

The diet menu includes baked trout with herbs. Not all fish products are created equal. It is worth giving up canned fish and pickled dishes, since after cooking there are almost no useful ingredients left in their composition.

Only vegetables

Next comes the day of carbohydrates - you are allowed to eat vegetables in almost any form.
They can be boiled, baked, steamed or grilled, but without adding oil. The daily food intake should not exceed 1.5 kg. The daily menu could be like this:

  • in the morning: 200 g of vegetable salad (tomatoes, cucumbers, sweet peppers, basil, fresh herbs, a pinch of salt);
  • for lunch: 1 grated carrot (you can add a little honey);
  • for lunch: cauliflower soup (can be replaced with broccoli);
  • snack: any fresh vegetable (tomato, cucumber);
  • dinner: vegetable stew of zucchini, onions and carrots (you can use a little vegetable oil during cooking);

Another variant:

  • for breakfast: fresh cabbage and carrot salad (you can add boiled beets);
  • snack: boiled green beans;
  • lunch: about 300 g of boiled cauliflower with carrots;
  • dinner: 300 g salad of fresh tomatoes, bell peppers and arugula leaves.

On vegetable day, you can eat any vegetables up to one and a half kilograms.

Chicken dishes

Chicken meat is an excellent source of proteins. But the diet can be diversified by adding meat from other dietary poultry varieties (quail, turkey). The daily amount of food should not exceed 500 g. Approximate daily menu:

  • morning meal: 100 - 150 g of boiled breast (during cooking, you can use any spices except salt);
  • snack: 100 g poultry meat baked in foil with rosemary;
  • lunch: broth with seasonings (without noodles and vegetables);
  • dinner: 200 g of grilled meat (the skin must be removed before cooking, as it contains too much fat).

Another version:

  • in the morning: 100 g of steamed chicken cutlets (it is better to make minced meat yourself from fillet);
  • lunch: a cup of tea with mint or lemon balm;
  • for lunch: chicken soup with pieces of meat;
  • evening: salad with baked chicken.

Cereal Day

Cereals are a source of vitamins and dietary fiber, which are necessary for normal digestion. On the fourth day you are allowed to eat porridge. Drinking plenty of fluids is recommended.
The menu could be as follows:

  • in the morning - 150 g of oatmeal cooked in water;
  • lunch - 150 g brown rice;
  • lunch - 200 g of buckwheat porridge (it should not be boiled, but steamed - pour boiling water over the cereal overnight);
  • snack - rosehip decoction or mint tea;
  • 2 - 3 hours before bedtime - quinoa cooked in water with herbs.

The cereal day of the 7 petals diet involves unloading on cereals.

Dairy products

On the fifth day, the body again needs to be saturated with proteins. It is allowed to consume fermented milk products, but with a low fat content. The following daily diet is considered good:

  • in the morning - 150 g of low-fat cottage cheese (no more than 5%), sprinkled with cinnamon;
  • lunch - 100 g of Greek yogurt (without additives or sweeteners);
  • lunch - 200 g of low-fat cottage cheese, seasoned with yogurt;
  • dinner - a glass of kefir.

Another version:

  • breakfast - 150 g of cheesecakes without sugar, cooked in the oven or steamer;
  • snack - skim milk (no more than 200 ml);
  • for lunch - 200 g of cottage cheese;
  • dinner - cottage cheese seasoned with natural yogurt.

Fruits and berries

Fresh berries and fruits will not only provide the right amount of complex carbohydrates, but also saturate the body with healthy vitamins. It is better to consume the products fresh, but you can bake them, prepare juices, and purees. It is better to give preference to fruits with fat-burning properties (pineapple). And you should avoid grapes, bananas, and foods high in sugar.

Nutritionists recommend placing special emphasis on fruits with a fat-burning effect. A daily meal plan might look like this:

  • in the morning - 2 grated peeled apples, 1 peach;
  • snack - grapefruit;
  • lunch: 200 g pineapple, 2 baked apples;
  • evening: 3 kiwi puree, half a grapefruit.

Another variant:

  • for breakfast - 200 g of salad (pear, orange, strawberry, can be dressed with honey);
  • lunch - 1 medium unsweetened apple;
  • for lunch - 300 g of fruit salad from apple, peach and kiwi;
  • afternoon snack - 200 ml juice (orange or tomato);
  • dinner - vitamin smoothie (in a blender, grind and mix the pulp of an apple, pear, kiwi with a glass of chilled green tea).

Day on the water

The last day of the diet is considered the most difficult. Any food during the day is prohibited, but you need to drink a lot of liquid - at least 2 - 3 liters. Not only water is allowed, but also herbal infusions (chamomile, lemon balm, mint, nettle), unsweetened fruit drinks, compotes of dried fruits and dried berries, as well as green tea (can be with jasmine or other additives).

Proper nutrition is the key to a slim figure

A smart way out of the diet

The 7-petal diet menu is quite complex. By avoiding simple carbohydrates, fats, and limiting daily calorie intake, you can achieve good results. But the weight lost with such difficulty will quickly return if immediately after the end of the week you increase the energy value of the daily diet by 2-3 times.

In order to maintain the results, you need to exit the diet slowly.

Gradually include new dishes in your nutrition plan - let them be healthy foods rich in protein and fiber. It is recommended to increase the calorie content of the menu by no more than 20% per day. The amount of pastries, bread, sweets, fried foods, and fatty meats should be limited - the benefits of such dishes are minimal. It is recommended to eat small meals - eat in small portions, but often (at least 5 - 7 times a day), because this helps speed up metabolism and relieve stress on the digestive system.

Doctor's opinion

The seven petal diet causes concern. The principle of separate nutrition, in which proteins and carbohydrates are not consumed together, has no scientific basis. There is an opinion that the digestion of monocomponent food leads to the fact that it is less absorbed. The result is weight loss. However, such a statement has not been confirmed by serious clinical studies.

It is necessary to take into account the fact that there are no products that contain only protein or carbohydrates. So, in all diets, chicken meat and cottage cheese are classified as protein foods. However, in reality it also contains carbohydrates and fats. The 7 petals diet guarantees rapid weight loss. This is true. However, such a scheme is dangerous and can lead to health problems. In order to lose weight comfortably and not have problems with the functioning of the internal organ system in the future, it is recommended to lose no more than 150 g per day.

The diet itself is also questionable. Today it is highly popular. The method is believed to have been invented by Swedish nutritionist Anna Johansson. However, if you carefully study this person, it turns out that she does not appear in any directory or official source. You can eat foods recommended by the plan. All have low energy value. However, in a similar way, it will be possible to achieve weight loss by refusing to eat high-calorie foods. Usually it includes dishes that are tasty and harmful. These are sweets and animal fat.

Recipes for the 7 Petals Diet

Allowed products can be combined and prepared in different ways - the recipes are simple, and the dishes turn out delicious.
It is important to limit the amount of salt, but herbs and spices can be used. Simply prepare hake puree soup. Fish fillet (necessarily without bones) should be filled with water, spices and fresh herbs should be added, and cooked. Most of the broth should be drained, leaving only a little liquid. The mixture is then blended using a blender. Instead of hake, you can use other fish.

Cottage cheese makes delicious cheesecakes. 300 g of low-fat product should be mixed with 1 egg. Form small cakes from the cheese mass, roll them in dry semolina and place on a baking sheet. The dish is baked until a golden crust forms.

Another dish for a curd day is a delicious mousse. Mix 200 g of cottage cheese with ½ tbsp. milk (take low-fat products), add a pinch of cinnamon and grind in a blender until you obtain a light mousse.

If you want to diversify the menu during a grain day, you can make buckwheat cutlets.

The cereal should be boiled, and after it has cooled, grind it using a blender.
Add finely chopped herbs and spices to taste to the resulting mush, form small cakes, place on a baking sheet and bake in the oven. Fish can be cooked in foil - this way it tastes better and retains its beneficial properties. Place the salmon fillet on a large piece of foil, add a little salt, add pepper, a sprig of rosemary, cover with foil and bake in the oven. Fish baked in this way turns out juicy and aromatic.

What results can you achieve?

If you follow the rules of the diet and plan the menu correctly, you can achieve good results.
Reviews indicate that such a nutritional system helps to lose about 3 - 6 kg (much depends on the total amount of excess weight, the person’s level of physical activity, and genetic factors). In order not to harm your health, you should adhere to safety rules. You can’t stick to this menu for more than 7 days - after that you definitely need to take a break for at least a month. Physical activity should be limited, since the body already lacks resources - only light workouts, long walks, and recreational gymnastics are allowed. If during the diet you feel very weak, dizzy, or suffer from headaches, then you should switch to a more gentle diet.
