What is a dietary supplement

Dietary supplements are substances designed to compensate for the lack of certain microelements in the body. Most often they can be found in pharmacies. Although they are not drugs, pharmacologists and biochemists are involved in their development. A dietary supplement may include:

  • plant extracts;
  • beneficial bacteria;
  • fatty acid;
  • proteins;
  • amino acids;
  • peptides;
  • vitamins;
  • minerals.

Manufacturers not only select the optimal concentration of these substances required to fill the deficiency. They also ensure their compatibility. Thus, a high-quality supplement cannot simultaneously include calcium and iron, zinc and folic acid, vitamins B1 and B12. Conversely, calcium is supplied with vitamin D, iron with vitamin C, magnesium with vitamin B6.

Types of fat burners: which one to choose

It is customary to classify all drugs into several groups according to their active mode of action:

  1. Thermogenics. They accelerate metabolism and start the process of burning fat by slightly increasing body temperature - by only 0.5 ºС, the maximum is raised to 2 ºС.
