Childhood and youth
Yaroslav Brin was born in the small working-class village of Vydrino.
The boy's childhood was spent in a rather tense atmosphere, since in the 90s there were many crime stories in the village. The coach often recalls how, with the arrival of spring, the residents of Vydrino had to observe the bodies of dead people among the melted snow. As a child, Yaroslav was prone to being overweight, which became the reason for ridicule from his peers. He studied well, attended music lessons and even wrote poetry, but this only encouraged the guys who considered the boy a “black sheep.” Everything changed literally one day when he saw Mike Tyson fight for the first time. This event became a real impetus for 14-year-old Yaroslav, and he began to actively engage in sports. The beautiful name “gym” hid a damp basement where former prisoners and bandits came to box.
After graduating from 8th grade at a comprehensive school, Brin moved to the city of Slyudyanka, where he entered an online school. On the very first day, the young man got into a fight with his classmates, for whom the “conflict” ended with a trip to the hospital. During his studies, Yaroslav became seriously interested in exact sciences and psychology, which later allowed him to enter ISU.
Myths that Yaroslav's system dispels
Yaroslav Brin is a unique person who has attracted a lot of fans to his side, he already has followers. Losing weight became a part of his life and his caustic, sharp and not always tactful statements about standard weight correction methods became a real set of rules for losing weight.
Brin analyzed a lot of documentary material and made the following conclusions:
- Running is not the optimal physical activity for those losing weight. This is a cardio exercise, and it burns quite a few calories. Half an hour of active running will allow you to get rid of only 300 Kcal (for example, a glass of milk - 150 Kcal). But strength training and calories will be burned in large volumes, so squats are an excellent choice for weight loss.
- It is reliably known that strength exercises trigger the growth of muscle tissue in the body, due to which fat deposits are burned. But cardio exercise will lead to the destruction of not only fat, but also muscle mass.
Running is not the optimal physical activity for someone losing weight.
If you eat something immediately after running (just drink a cup of coffee), the fat burning process will immediately stop. But after any strength load (for example, a set of squats), it is not only possible, but also necessary to eat something protein - and hunger will be satisfied and the necessary processes will accelerate.
- It is impossible to burn fat deposits in only one part of the body. Many people strive to tidy up only their stomach or waist and work out intensely, doing crunches several dozen or hundreds of times a day or simply pumping up their abs. In fact, such a load will only work in combination with other exercises, which will make it possible to get rid of existing fat in all problem areas.
If you only do crunches vigorously, the result will be thick, hard, and strong abs. Plus fat deposits in the same volume or even with an addition.
Abs exercise
- For a slender waist, you need to perform side bends and preferably with weights with dumbbells. This should under no circumstances be done. Sports instructors know well that such an exercise only increases the size of the waist and makes the lateral stabilizers more powerful.
- Moreover, lateral bending only worsens a woman’s appearance, not only when performed as part of regular morning exercises, but also during systematic exercise with additional weight. These exercises can and should be replaced by body rotations with slight twisting from a standing position . They can also be performed with weights with dumbbells.
- Diet is fasting. But in simple terms, in the absence of adequate nutrition, the body will first provide itself with energy using glycogen from the muscles, then it absorbs meat and only lastly the existing fat deposits are used.
- Fat contains many times more calories, and this reserve is left for the most extreme cases, but by this time the metabolism will slow down critically, and nervous tension will reach its climax. And the result will be a gastronomic breakdown.
Fasting when losing weight is prohibited.
The result of such weight loss will be new reserves of fat, just in case you have to starve again. Adding to this a slow metabolism and low muscle mass, you can understand that the figure will take on even larger shapes and completely lose its contours.
- Tablets, capsules, drops and ointments with gels will help you lose weight, because they are sold in pharmacies and advertised on television. But if you carefully study the composition of such products, it becomes clear that they contain diuretics, laxatives and appetite suppressants. Manufacturers add various plant extracts and components to their preparations that are designed to prevent the absorption of glucose from food.
- What is the result? A person takes such a pill at night, goes to the toilet in the morning and sees minus 2 kg on the scale. But he doesn’t think about the fact that it’s just that fluid and part of the feces have been removed from the body, but the fat has remained intact.
To be honest, there are special pills that actually speed up fat burning, but they are prescribed only by doctors, taken in strictly prescribed doses and are definitely not advertised or sold in pharmacies without prescriptions.
If we summarize all the myths that Yaroslav Brin successfully dispels, we can draw the following conclusions:
- Physical activity on the body with weights and strength training are much more effective for losing weight. There is no need to run, just do a set of squats often enough.
- It is impossible to get rid of fat in any specific area of the body. In any case, you will have to perform multidirectional exercises in a complex.
- Lateral tilts of the body are prohibited.
- Fasting is strictly prohibited, especially if the goal is to make your figure slim and reduce body weight.
- Weight loss products are ineffective, even those sold in pharmacies with all the certificates and licenses.
We recommend reading the article about Solovyov’s diet. From it you will learn about how the journalist and TV presenter lost weight, his diet by day of the week, nutrition recommendations, and exercise. And here is more information about burpees for weight loss.
Student years and first job
After entering the university, the guy immediately enrolled in the boxing section. During his 5 years of study, he trained intensively in the university gym, where he prepared for the upcoming competitions. Thanks to his perseverance, Yaroslav took 1st place at the arm wrestling championship, which also helped him gain authority among his classmates.
The successful defense of his thesis motivated Brin to continue his graduate studies in Marketing and Management. In parallel with studying higher mathematics, the future coach literally “absorbed” literature on fitness and proper nutrition. Thanks to a deep study of the “theory”, Yaroslav is freed from attending a course of lectures and subsequent exams in physical education.
Studying the basics of management and marketing was not in vain - Yaroslav Brin took the post of director of the Railway Junction in the city of Slyudyanka. However, due to the biased attitude of management, he was forced to leave his position, which was the beginning of his coaching career.
Expert commentary
Igor Molot, fitness trainer
Several times I personally came across the fact that various pseudo-trainers recruit people to participate in so-called weight loss marathons. Everything would be fine, but, as a rule, it’s just making money from people’s naivety. At the same time, many people themselves are eager to be deceived. He offered free help several times. In order to lose weight, there is only one way - to create a deficit of incoming energy. I am ready to explain to a person for free how to correctly count calories (energy), but in response I hear something like this: “Only cheese in a mousetrap is free, and if a person takes a lot of money, he will definitely find me a magic pill.”
And such trainers consider themselves doctors, nutritionists and nutritionists. Sometimes they even fake diplomas for themselves. And this is where the fun begins. They start selling various dietary supplements to people. Under various pretexts. Muscles don’t grow without amino acids, fat doesn’t burn without fat burners, there won’t be energy for training without “pre-workouts,” etc. At the same time, almost no one even asks about the presence of diseases and contraindications. For example, a person has problems with blood pressure, and they give him various fat burners and “pre-workouts” that may have an inadequate effect on the already problematic blood pressure.
Most often, dietary supplements do not work at all. Nothing more than a marketing ploy. That is, these “trainers” probably cooperate with manufacturers of dietary supplements, have interest, and just want to sell to them. For example, regular protein from food is enough for muscles, and protein is amino acids. No fat burners burn fat; they work as thermogenics, increasing body temperature. This does not cause fat to burn. And so on.
Everything would be fine if they just made money from it. But, as I said, it can be harmful to your health. There are a lot of cases where people with various health problems are advised all sorts of nonsense. Apply dimexide to a malignant tumor, for example. Of course, I myself do not have a medical education, but I don’t pretend to be smarter than I am. But in any case, I ask people about contraindications that doctors should give, and based on them, I decide what to do with the person.
And even if a person does not know about his problems and says that everything is fine with him, I will never “cure people.” Doctors do this, and not “on the Internet,” but through personal contact. If I understand that I don’t understand nutritional science, why would I advise a person anything? I understand that people tend to look for symptoms of their illnesses on the Internet, but there are not and cannot be any online doctors.
Well-deserved fame
At the beginning of 2011, Yaroslav Brin created an official YouTube channel dedicated to proper nutrition and fitness. In his videos, the trainer shares his personal experience in losing weight, and also reveals the main secrets of proper nutrition and creating individual training programs. A professional approach allowed Yaroslav to win the attention of many viewers who managed to overcome excess weight only thanks to his unique technique.
Projects "FM4M" and "Master Group"
The trainer also regularly publishes reports in which he shows the weight loss results of his players. The project involves men and women who want to give their body an attractive shape. In his FM4M project, which lasts 16 weeks, Brin trains participants so that they can independently create a diet aimed at losing weight and an effective training program. Brin also has a second project, “Master Group”, this is a year-long program aimed at improving various areas of life, from health and sports, to money and relationships.
Elena Kornilova
The loudest scandal of recent times is the exposure of Elena Kornilova, a false biochemist, false doctor and dozens of other false credentials. Elena Kornilova called herself a naturopath, a biohacker, showed off diplomas and certificates of international educational programs, claimed that she allegedly graduated from the Technical University of Munich with a degree in organic chemistry, and then allegedly studied for a doctorate at the National University of Singapore. At 29 years old. With a lot of money and an appearance close to the concept of an “Instagram model”.
Elena gave lectures on biohacking from her phone, made five mistakes in one word (for example, “hypothyroidism”) and made the same horrifying mistakes in homemade Photoshop papers, which she passed off as international diplomas.
On her Instagram blog, she sold dietary supplements and trainings, and also gave deadly recommendations to her flock of thousands, not forgetting to accompany the recommendations with a saying about her medical education.
De facto, there is no medical diploma, no clear education is visible at all, so “anything is possible”! Medical knowledge only gets in the way, adding unnecessary doubts and unnecessary thoughts. There is zero legal liability, since Elena only recommends dietary supplements. And these are not medicines, these are food additives, such as spices or sauces. It’s no big deal that someone gets sick from “shaitan pills”; someone might feel sick from cayenne pepper. And the fact that Elena is not a doctor and recommends dietary supplements in kilograms is just her personal opinion, as if a programmer recommended eating dry basil not in spoons, but in glasses.
Elena has a unique understanding of human anatomy. For example, the intestines, in her opinion, are directly connected to the brain, otherwise how else could regular bioenemas and eating 22 tablets a day affect the brain? Tablets purchased on iHerb with a personal discount from Ms. Biohacker.
Elena brushed aside all sorts of complaints from “patients” who tried to stuff this set of useful things into themselves. What, you say, weakness has appeared? This is fine! The temperature has risen? Happenes. Are your allergies gone? Oh, how everything is slagged, take 40 tablets! Even pregnant and lactating women were not exempt from taking pills. Just think, the miracle pills contain components that are dangerous for bearing a fetus. Well, just think, it can cause a miscarriage. What nonsense, it means your body is not ready for pregnancy!
At the same time, newspapers and fashion publications wrote with delight about Elena Kornilova, her successes were set as an example to “everyone else” who, by the age of 30, had not yet acquired an academic degree, unlimited financial opportunities, excellent appearance and a super popular blog on Instagram. Let’s hope that all these people who received money for publishing commissioned materials at least now understand that the price for popularizing Elena Kornilova was, excuse the pathos, human lives. But for some, most likely, money doesn’t matter, and the editors are not responsible for the content of paid materials, including those made in the style of native (hidden) advertising.
Kornilova’s laurels, apparently, do not give rest to other instadivists, who with the same success promote dubious dietary supplements under the tune of “my children take this - we forgot about doctors!”
The only way to find out how false and dangerous these recommendations are is to conduct an experiment on your child. As is done, for example, by the followers of another instadoctor without a medical education.
