How many calories are in tiramisu, what dietary properties it has, all this is of great interest to those who lead a healthy lifestyle and monitor their health and figure. So we will try to answer these questions in the next article.

So here it is:

Tiramisu is one of the most famous Italian desserts. Its history is the most controversial in Italian cuisine. Some claim that it was prepared back in the 17th century, while others link its origins to the middle of the last century and the banal attempt of one pastry chef to sell stale cookies. One way or another, tiramisu is a truly Italian dessert, since its main ingredients are Italian savoiardi cookies and mascapone cheese.

The basis of real tiramisu is mascarpone cheese. And it is made only in one province of Italy, Lombardy, from heavy cream. It looks like soft butter. This delicacy is sandwiched with fluffy cookies - savoiardi. It is made from protein, sugar and flour and is shaped like tubes. Marsala wine gives this dessert a unique taste. This wine comes from Sicily, and chefs love it. Marsala is mixed with coffee and citrus fruits.

Although the recipe for classic tiramisu is quite simple, you can find not only many varieties, but also many forms and methods of preparation.

Composition of tiramisu

The classic composition of tiramisu includes the following mandatory ingredients: chicken eggs, mascarpone cheese, espresso coffee, sugar and savoiardi cookies. Italian confectioners claim that changing the composition of tiramisu is strictly prohibited. The thing is that without the “right” ingredients you will not be able to achieve the original taste, aroma, or appearance of the tiramisu dessert. True, modern food and confectionery manufacturers go to all sorts of tricks to reduce the cost of producing consumer goods, which is why the classic tiramisu recipe has been adapted to modern realities.

Lift me up!

This is exactly what the word “tiramisu” means in Italian. As planned, the dessert turns out loose, moist and airy - cutting it into portions is extremely difficult, as it will spread. If aesthetics are important to you, we recommend preparing the treat in portioned bowls. And yes, the recipe uses raw eggs. Please wash them thoroughly with baking soda before use:

  • eggs - 5 pieces;
  • sugar - 5 tbsp. spoon;
  • strong coffee - 210 ml;
  • “Mascarpone” - 375 grams;
  • aromatic alcohol - 5 tbsp. spoon;
  • Savoyardi cookies - 45 pieces;
  • cocoa powder - to taste.

Products are given for 8 servings.
