Chinese plum for cleansing the body and losing weight

Beilixian prunes is a natural product that contains a large amount of substances beneficial to the body. Using this product you can remove waste and toxins, normalize the digestion process, improve overall well-being, etc. Chinese plum is also used for weight loss. The product is not a medicine.

Advantages and disadvantages

The advantage of a weight loss product is that it has a positive effect on the functioning of the entire body. It can be taken not only by people who want to lose excess weight. The therapeutic effects of Chinese plum help in the treatment of health problems such as:

  • constipation,
  • hemorrhoids,
  • hypertension,
  • hangover,
  • hormonal imbalances,
  • sleep problems,
  • gout,
  • acne.

Plum can also be consumed by people suffering from diabetes, since the product contains a minimal amount of sugar that is safe for a sick person. In the insulin-dependent form of the disease, patients are not recommended to start taking a Chinese weight loss remedy on their own. Consultation with your attending physician is required.

Apart from a small list of contraindications and the difficulty of purchasing quality products (it is recommended to order from official distributors, which will avoid buying counterfeits), it has no drawbacks.

How is the Chinese plum different from the rest?

Chinese plum (Prunus salicina), as you might guess, comes from the Middle Kingdom, specifically from the northern mountainous regions and Manchuria. In its homeland it is known as triflorous plum or willow plum. The Chinese have been cultivating various varieties for thousands of years. At one time, the fruits were regularly served at the table of emperors, and the trees decorated the palace gardens. Much later (only in the 16th-17th centuries), Japan became acquainted with the Chinese plum and quickly appreciated it. This was facilitated not only by the taste of the fruit, but also by the amazingly beautiful flowering.

The Chinese plum blossoms fantastically beautifully, but you can only admire this spectacle a few days a year

The culture came to Europe from the United States, which at the end of the 19th century actively developed trade relations with Japan. Active selection began on the basis of imported varieties - first in California, then the whole world joined. This path has led to the fact that in some places in Europe the Chinese plum is still called Japanese plum.

A compact, neat, low (about 3 m) tree immediately attracts attention. The crown, even without trimming, forms an almost regular ball. The leaves are shiny, larger than those of a regular plum, and more elongated. There is no edge.

The leaves of Chinese and ordinary plums, in the opinion of a professional botanist, have many differences

The fruits are heart-shaped or spherical. Specimens that are slightly elongated along the vertical axis fit normally, as do those that are slightly flattened. Color varies from sunny yellow to rich dark scarlet and burgundy. The peel is a little astringent, but is more durable.

The pulp is juicy, the taste is balanced and refreshing. It is, of course, fibrous and does not melt in the mouth like southern plums, but it is also quite up to par. It is almost impossible to separate the stone from the pulp. The characteristic aroma reminds some of melon, another association is apricot.

The aesthetic aspect is also of considerable importance. The Chinese plum blossoms very quickly, but for several days its branches are literally covered with buds. This is explained by the fact that 3–4 flowers are formed in each flower bud at once. Flower buds bloom before leaf buds, creating a striking effect. In Europe and the USA, the Chinese plum is known as “princess”, “bride”, “Snow White”.

What are the other advantages of this group of varieties?

  1. Cold resistance. Chinese plum will withstand temperatures down to -45–55ºС with minimal damage.
  2. Transportability. Plums taken from the tree without damage tolerate long-distance travel well and, even without creating ideal conditions, are stored for 2–3 weeks longer than other varieties. This is due to the density of the skin and pulp.
  3. Fast growth and early pregnancy. Seedlings reach the size of adult trees 2–3 years after planting in a permanent place. Then you can expect the first harvests, increasing with each subsequent season.
  4. Consistently high yield and appearance of plums. If the weather is favorable, the shoots are literally dotted with large, beautiful fruits of bright colors. From such a mass the branches bend and even break.
  5. Versatility. In addition to fresh consumption, Chinese plums are great for home canning, winemaking, and baking.
  6. High resistance to the most common stone fruit diseases, less “interest” from pests.

Most of those who have tried Chinese plums rate their taste and versatility very highly.

There are also some disadvantages:

  1. Chinese plum blossoms very early, on average 1.5–2 weeks earlier than usual varieties, in early May. Therefore, in areas with a temperate climate, it is often exposed to the negative effects of returning spring frosts. The buds, caught by frost, fall off, and you can’t expect a harvest.
  2. Pollination problems. The reason is the same - early flowering. There are no pollinating insects at this time, the weather is damp and cold.
  3. Relatively short lifespan of trees. In 15–20 years, the plum orchard will have to be completely changed.
  4. The crop is susceptible to the development of rot, the main cause of which is the heating of the root collar. Therefore, special attention should be paid to preparing the tree for winter.
  5. Self-sterility of most varieties. Even those that are declared as self-fertile significantly increase yield if there are suitable “companions”.
  6. High calorie content. Unlike classic plums, the energy value of “Chinese plums” is comparable to that of grapes. For those who want to diversify their diet, this is not an option.

In the southern subtropics (Crimea, Kuban, Krasnodar Territory) Chinese plum is not very popular. Firstly, it tolerates drought much worse than cold, and secondly, they prefer to grow sweeter, “marmalade” varieties. But for the Central region, Moscow region, Urals, Siberia, Far East - this is just a godsend.

Mechanism of weight loss

The product was not intended for weight loss, but during its use it was revealed that normalizing intestinal motility, purifying the blood, stabilizing blood pressure, reducing the load on the liver and removing toxic substances, which lead to the use of Chinese natural products, help improve the functioning of all organs and systems. Due to the complex effect, it is possible to improve metabolism, break down and remove fat deposits, and also prevent the appearance of cholesterol plaques.

Normalizing stool and metabolism, as well as removing excess fluid from the body, helps make the body slim and the skin tight and elastic.

Contraindications

It is not recommended to use Chinese products to cleanse the body while pregnant and breastfeeding. The cleansing and weight loss product may have a negative effect on the baby because it passes into the bloodstream and breast milk.

A contraindication for use is individual intolerance to the components that make up this product.

Products are prohibited for use for certain diseases, for example:

  • inflammation of the parietal and visceral layers of the peritoneum (peritonitis),
  • stomach or duodenal ulcer,
  • gastritis with high acidity,
  • inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis),
  • prolonged diarrhea (the occurrence of which is not associated with the consumption of plums),
  • stones in the bladder and kidneys (drain helps remove them, but if the stones are large, they can cause blockage of the ducts),
  • intestinal obstruction,
  • acute colitis,
  • severe form of diabetes mellitus,
  • Crohn's disease (in the acute stage), etc.

Fermented plums should not be taken during recovery from illness or in the postoperative period.

To prevent deterioration in health and the development of other pathological processes, before purchasing this product you should undergo a medical examination and consult a specialist.

Features of cultivation

Chinese plums are grown in almost the same way as regular plums, with the exception of some features:

  1. In the first years before fruiting begins, fertilizing with nitrogen fertilizers should be minimized, since at this time the shoots grow intensively.
  2. During mild snowy winters, trees of many varieties of Chinese plum become ripe in the root collar zone, so it is necessary to rake away the snow that has fallen on the unfrozen ground and graft the varieties into the crown of winter-hardy varieties of domestic plum or damson plum.
  3. Since bouquet branches are short-lived (they live only two to three years), you have to constantly monitor their condition. And if in the spring it turns out that they are very frozen, the branches with dead fruit branches must be pruned to a strong lateral branch directed from the center of the crown, and if this is not the case, cut to a bud or bouquet branch in the direction from the crown.

Side effects

Cleansing the intestines in the first days of taking plums may manifest itself in the form of a frequent urge to defecate and discomfort in the abdomen. Some consumers report a decrease or increase in appetite. In the first days, you may experience dizziness, increased sweating and a rash on the face.

The occurrence of side effects is explained by the process of breakdown of toxins and the active removal of toxins. They peel off from the intestinal walls and may partially enter the bloodstream. When the bulk of the substances that poison the body are eliminated, the side effects will disappear and your health will improve.

Some women may experience an increase in body weight of up to 2 kg during menstrual bleeding. This process has nothing to do with eating plums. Weight gain is explained by fluid retention in the body, which occurs under the influence of hormonal changes. During your period, you are allowed to stop taking Chinese products and then resume it. After completion of menstruation, body weight will return to normal.

Plum for the Moscow region - the best variety, selection criteria

The plant belongs to the stone fruit genus. Plum for the Moscow region is the best variety of fruit tree in terms of unpretentiousness. Unlike apricots and peaches, plums initially grow in temperate latitudes and tolerate winter cold. Gardeners are offered a variety of varieties based on many years of selection of different types of plums from China, Spain, America, and their repeated cross-pollination.

What results can be achieved?

In the first week, intensive weight loss is observed. With the help of plums you can lose about 2-3 kg in 7 days. All subsequent weeks, weight loss will be less effective. During the first 7 days, excess moisture is removed from the body. Due to this, rapid loss of extra pounds occurs. When swelling and all other stagnant fluid go away, the process of breaking down fat cells will begin. Burning fat takes longer than removing water from the body, so losing weight occurs more slowly.

If you take the full course, you can reduce your body weight by 5-6 kg. Exercise and proper nutrition will help improve results.

After completing the course, the weight may gradually return. To prevent weight gain, it is recommended to adjust your diet (limit the consumption of junk food or completely abandon it) and increase physical activity.
