4 week

Breakfast remains the same. For each day, a list of allowed foods is given that should be consumed at any time:

  • First: vegetables, meat, bread, fish.
  • Second: fruits, vegetables, meat.
  • Third: cheese or cottage cheese, bread, vegetables.
  • Fourth: vegetables, meat, bread.

One of the most important stages of a diet is getting out of it. After all, if you leave the diet incorrectly, the weight can quickly return. It is important to gradually return to a healthy, balanced diet. To do this you need:

  • On the first day after leaving the diet, eat 100 g of porridge for breakfast, and the same amount of pasta for lunch.
  • The next day, do the same, slightly increasing the portions to 150 g, and also eating a salad of fresh vegetables.
  • On the third day, you can finally include sweets. Healthy ones, such as dark chocolate in small portions. Next, marshmallows, honey, marshmallows in the following days.
  • On the fourth day, you can add pork and fatty fish to your diet. Portions should not be more than 150 g.
  • Fifth day – fermented milk, absolutely any kind, not diet. If desired, you can drink alcohol.

Important! After a protein-citrus diet, you should definitely add soups to your diet. At first dietary ones, then any. The consumption of carbonated drinks with added sugar, sausages and fast food should be avoided for as long as possible.

Harm and contraindications

The list of beneficial properties of oranges is impressive, but do not rush to switch to a citrus diet, since it has many contraindications. It is prohibited for gastritis, ulcers and high acidity. If your blood sugar level is high, it is also wise to avoid it. People prone to allergies should eat citrus fruits with caution, and it is better to choose a different menu altogether, since they are considered the strongest allergens. Pregnant women and women during breastfeeding should also not overuse tropical fruits.

Oranges are an excellent product when dieting. This is the opinion of many people who have tried the egg-orange diet.

What can and cannot be eaten?

The egg diet is rightfully considered one of the varieties of protein diets. Therefore, the list of permitted/prohibited products will not differ much. The only exception is the high content of eggs and citrus fruits.

Authorized Products

The list of allowed foods for the egg diet is quite extensive, which makes it easier to tolerate:

  • chicken eggs;
  • meat: skinless chicken fillet, lean pork, beef, veal, rabbit;
  • white and red fish;
  • vegetables: tomatoes, cucumbers, avocado, lettuce, greens, celery root, radish, white cabbage, carrots, beets, asparagus, green beans, eggplant, zucchini;
  • fruits: lemons (lemon juice), oranges, grapefruits, apples, pears, tangerines, plums.
  • dairy products: unsalted sheep cheese, low-fat cottage cheese, low-fat milk, low-fat kefir and/or yogurt;
  • tea;
  • coffee;
  • spices.

Prohibited Products

The list of prohibited foods, in principle, is not very different from most diets:

  • sugar;
  • alcohol;
  • flour products;
  • pasta;
  • cereals;
  • potato;
  • confectionery and chocolate;
  • fatty meats;
  • sour cream;
  • mayonnaise;
  • honey;
  • nuts;
  • soft cheeses;
  • vegetable oils;
  • any fats;
  • fruits: bananas, grapes, dried fruits.

And, as always, it is advisable to reduce your salt intake as much as possible in order to get rid of excess fluid in the body, since, as we know, salt retains water in the body.

Second week

Breakfast – daily ½ grapefruit or orange, 1-2 boiled eggs.

Lunch – boiled or fried meat, salad. Dinner – 2 boiled eggs, one grapefruit or orange.

Fourth week

The products are consumed throughout the day at any time, but without additions.

¼ boiled chicken, or 4 slices of boiled or fried meat, 4 cucumbers, 3 tomatoes, 1 can of tuna, either without oil or washed with water, 1 toast, 1 grapefruit or orange.
Day 2
No more than 200 g of boiled or fried meat, 4 cucumbers, 3 tomatoes, 1 toast, pear or apple or grapefruit or orange or 1 slice of melon.
Day 3
1 spoon of cottage cheese or any low-fat white cheese, a small plate of boiled vegetables, 2 cucumbers, 2 tomatoes, 1 toast, 1 grapefruit or orange.
4 day
1/2 fried or boiled chicken, 1 cucumber, 3 tomatoes, 1 grapefruit or orange, one of the allowed fruits.
5 day
2 boiled eggs. 3 tomatoes, 1 lettuce, 1 grapefruit or orange.
Day 6
2 boiled chicken breasts, 125 g feta cheese or cottage cheese, 1 toast, 2 tomatoes, 2 cucumbers, curdled milk, 1 grapefruit or orange.
Day 7
1 spoon of cottage cheese, 1 can of tuna without oil, a small portion of boiled vegetables, 2 cucumbers, 2 tomatoes, 1 toast, 1 grapefruit or orange.

What can you cook during the citrus diet?

If desired, you can diversify your diet with simple and tasty dishes prepared from permitted products. This will help you easily survive the period of restrictions. Especially if it lasts more than a week.

  • Stewed vegetables - steamed only, without oil.
  • Fruit salads - apples, pears, and sometimes bananas are added to citrus fruits. A simple recipe - mix orange and grapefruit slices, pour over a couple of spoons of honey. You can sprinkle with a small amount of walnuts.
  • For breakfast, porridge is cooked in water. Buckwheat, millet, oatmeal, and rice cereals are suitable. Honey is added to the porridge in small quantities.
  • You can add nuts if you wish, although they are high in calories and contain oil. A small amount will help cope with hunger pangs.
  • Orange soup is prepared as a first course. It requires:
  • orange, which is grated and poured boiling water;
  • carrots, which are also grated and mixed with honey;
  • orange infusion is mixed with carrots and boiled until boiling.
  • Eggs can be consumed in any form, but the protein becomes easily digestible after boiling:
  • soft-boiled (3-4 minutes);
  • in a bag (5-6 minutes);
  • hard-boiled (10 minutes).

You can also poach it, which will take about the same amount of time. The egg turns out with a delicate white and a cream-like yolk.

  • Salad. Grapefruit and orange are cut into cubes. If desired, remove the films from the grapefruit slices to avoid bitterness. The salad is mixed with 2 tablespoons of honey, sprinkled with a handful of ground walnuts.


The diet is also supplemented with drinks based on kiwi, ginger and citrus fruits.

Do oranges help you lose weight?

Not all people know that oranges actually help you lose weight if you include them in your diet.

It is useful to introduce this sunny fruit into your diet because it:

  • will be a good alternative to snacking;
  • prolongs the feeling of fullness;
  • will provide vitality.

Doctors advise eating several oranges a day for normal metabolism and weight loss. But their volume should not exceed more than 2 kg. per day.

It is beneficial to drink homemade orange juice while eating healthy, even if you are not even trying to lose weight. This drink contains the daily requirement of vitamin C, and also has a cleansing effect and prevents aging.

Fully or partially limited products

When on a citrus diet, the following are completely excluded from the diet: any bread and baked goods, cookies, smoked sausage, pasta, chocolate, lamb, sausages, caviar, jam, dough, ice cream, boiled sausage, jam, gingerbread, candy, pancakes, pork, cake, cake, seasonings, animal fat, legumes, tuber vegetables, nuts, mushrooms, goose, rice, pancakes, vegetable oil, energy drink, dumplings, cheese, duck, beef, coffee, butter. Who is this diet not suitable for?

Losing weight on citrus fruits is effective, but not everyone will be able to use it.

  1. The diet is stopped immediately if an allergic reaction occurs.
  2. Gastritis, high acidity, and other disorders of the stomach and gastrointestinal tract are an obstacle to consuming large amounts of fruit acids.
  3. Diabetes mellitus is a contraindication for use, since citrus fruits contain a lot of sugars.
  4. Chronic diseases require prior consultation with a doctor.
  5. The fight against excess weight resulting from disruption of the endocrine system is carried out only under the supervision of a doctor.

Pregnant and lactating women cannot abuse citrus fruits. The diet is not suitable for teenagers.
