Big Tasty - classic recipe

Let's try to cook a classic Big Tasty, like at McDonald's.

For buns:

  • 1 glass of milk;
  • 360 gr. flour;
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil;
  • 1 tablespoon sugar;
  • 1 egg;
  • 3 gr. dry yeast;
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt;
  • sesame seeds.

Let's warm up the milk a little, the temperature should be about 37 degrees. Dissolve yeast in warm milk, add sugar, stir. Beat the egg with the addition of salt and vegetable oil, pour this mixture into the milk. Stir and sift the flour on top. Knead the dough until it is quite stiff.

Advice! Flour consumption depends on its moisture content, so you may need a little more or a little less than the specified amount.

Place the kneaded dough in a deep bowl and cover with a cloth soaked in water and well wrung out. Leave in a warm place for 40 minutes. Place the risen dough on the board and knead well. Then we divide into 8 parts and roll them into balls.

Leave the balls to stand for 15 minutes, then roll each into a flat cake with a diameter of about 10 cm and a thickness of 1 cm. Place the flat cakes on a baking sheet covered with parchment. Cover with a clean kitchen towel so that the fabric does not touch the dough and there is room for rising. Leave in a warm place for half an hour. Then sprinkle each bun with sesame seeds. Bake at 200 degrees for about 20 minutes. Let the buns cool.

"Big Tasty": from preparing the bun to the first bite

It's no secret how harmful fast food is to the human body. But it's also no secret how delicious this junk food is! And sometimes you want to pamper yourself, for example, with a “Big Tasty” sandwich, whose calorie content is 850 kcal. What if you don’t go to a fast food restaurant to buy it, but prepare it at home, from kneading the dough to assembling the layers of the burger? Detailed instructions are included!

Sesame bun

One of the most important ingredients in Big Tasty is the sesame bun. The taste of the finished burger depends on its quality. Let's start with how to properly prepare this bun yourself.

Ingredients

  • 360 grams of wheat flour;
  • 1 stack milk;
  • 1 table. lie sugar sand;
  • 3 grams of dry yeast;
  • ¾ tsp. lie salt;
  • 1 chicken egg;
  • 1 table. lie sunflower oil;
  • sesame.

Preparation

  1. Dissolve the yeast in lukewarm milk. Add the rest of the ingredients and knead into a stiff dough. Cover the container with it with a warm, damp towel and place in a warm place.
  2. After about 40 minutes, the dough should have doubled in size. Then it needs to be kneaded and divided into 8 parts, each of which is rolled into a ball, and then rolled into a flat cake with a diameter of about 10 cm and a thickness of 1 cm.
  3. Place the prepared cakes on a baking sheet covered with a baking mat or parchment and place in a warm place for half an hour. When the buns have risen, sprinkle them with sesame seeds.
  4. Place the baking tray in the oven. Bake for 20 minutes at 200 degrees.

Meat cutlets

The Big Tasty buns are ready. It's time to move on to the next important step - preparing meat cutlets.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg minced beef;
  • sunflower oil;
  • salt pepper.

Preparation

  1. Place the ground beef between layers of cling film and roll it out using a rolling pin, trying to compact the meat as tightly as possible. The layer should be about 1 cm thick.
  2. Using a round mold with a diameter of ten cm, cut cutlets from the compacted minced meat. Pepper and salt them to taste. Fry the cutlets in a frying pan with vegetable oil.

Special sauce

Without what will Big Tasty not be itself? Naturally, without grill sauce. Tangy and spicy, it helps bring out all the flavors of the baked goods, vegetables and meat patty, making the sandwich taste richer.

After preparing the necessary components of the sandwich, you can begin its final “assembly”.

Ingredients

  • 1 sesame bun;
  • 1 beef cutlet;
  • Iceberg lettuce;
  • 2 slices of Emental cheese;
  • onion;
  • tomato;
  • Grill sauce.

Preparation

So, assembling the “Big Tasty” begins with preparing the bun: it must be cut lengthwise and each half must be fried in a grill pan. Next you will need the top “lid” of the muffin. Generously coat it with specially prepared sauce and lay out the layers of filling in the following order:

  • onion rings (a couple of circles);
  • pieces of lettuce, torn by hand;
  • two tomato slices;
  • a plate of cheese;
  • cutlet;
  • second slice of cheese.

Big Tasty burger sauce: 3 recipes

It is very important to prepare a delicious sauce for the Big Tasty burger. Lack of sauce will ruin all your efforts to prepare the burger. We offer three recipes to choose from.

Option 1:

  • 1 egg;
  • 0.5-1 teaspoon of dry mustard powder;
  • 1 tablespoon sunflower oil;
  • ¼ part teaspoon of hot ketchup;
  • ¼ teaspoon lemon juice or apple cider vinegar;
  • ¼ part teaspoon sugar;
  • 1 small pickled cucumber;
  • Salt to taste;
  • 6 drops of liquid smoke.

Using an immersion blender or a regular mixer, beat the egg yolk, add mustard powder and vegetable oil. When the mass becomes homogeneous, add lemon juice, vinegar, ketchup, and liquid smoke. Beat well again with a blender. Finely chop or grate the pickled cucumber and mix it with the prepared sauce base.

Advice! Liquid smoke is not the healthiest addition; you can omit it, but the taste and aroma of the sauce will change.

Option 2:

This is a simpler preparation option; the finished sauce has a slightly sweet taste.

  • 2.5 tablespoons of mayonnaise (it is better to take the classic version without additives);
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground paprika;
  • 1/3 teaspoon of dry ground onion;
  • 1/3 part black spoon of dry ground garlic;
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard;
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar (can be replaced with wine);
  • 1 pickled cucumber, preferably spicy.

Using a mixer, mix mayonnaise with mustard powder, dry ground onion and garlic, and paprika. When the mass becomes homogeneous, pour in vinegar and add very finely chopped pickled cucumber.

How to make sauce

The highlight of the Big Tasty is the special “Grill” sauce, which is why the burger is wildly popular.

Ingredients:

  • 7 tbsp store-bought or homemade mayonnaise;
  • half a dry beef stock cube;
  • tsp wine vinegar;
  • a little red and black ground pepper;
  • ½ tsp. dry onions and garlic;
  • half tsp liquid smoke.

Mix everything thoroughly.

Big Tasty - homemade recipe

If the classic version of the recipe seems complicated, you can still prepare Big Tasty - the recipe at home is much simpler.

For 2 pieces:

  • 2 prepared hamburger buns;
  • 8 large squares cut from iceberg lettuce leaves;
  • 1 tomato;
  • 6 thin slices processed cheese (such as Hohland Cheeseburger)
  • 4 rings of white salad onion;
  • 400 gr. ground beef;
  • salt, ground allspice.

Sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise;
  • 1 teaspoon prepared mustard;
  • 3 teaspoons ready-made BBQ sauce;
  • a few drops of liquid smoke (optional).

Salt and pepper the minced meat, knead and beat well, forcefully throwing the lump of minced meat into the bowl. We make two round cutlets. Fry on the grill or in a frying pan until done. Lightly brown the buns cut in half on the grill or in the oven.

For the sauce, mix all the ingredients listed in the list, knead thoroughly, and brush the halves of the buns with the sauce. Place 2 onion rings on the bottom one, then lay out lettuce leaves, tomato slices and a slice of cheese. Place the still hot cutlet on the cheese, place two more slices of cheese on top of it, and cover with the other half of the bun. Ready!

The disadvantage of fast food is that it is incredibly high in calories and is difficult on the digestive system. What if you outwit the burger manufacturers and prepare a hearty Big Tasty at home from natural and fresh ingredients. Ready to experiment? Then, go ahead!

Homemade version of Big Tasty

This is a more simplified recipe compared to the previous one, which uses ready-made buns. The instructions for making the sauce are slightly different. Otherwise, everything is the same as for any burger.

Grocery list:

  • One hamburger bun;
  • Egg;
  • Minced beef – 100 g;
  • Ground black pepper and salt;
  • Fresh tomato and pickled cucumber – 1 piece each;
  • 2-3 slices of processed cheese (Hochland type);
  • One onion;
  • Green lettuce leaves;
  • Mayonnaise – 20 g;
  • Turmeric and wig - a quarter teaspoon each;
  • Lemon juice.

Big Tasty recipe at home:

  1. Break the egg into a shallow bowl, add minced meat to it, add salt and pepper. Mix all ingredients thoroughly;
  2. Form the mixture into a flat patty, slightly larger in diameter than the bun. It will shrink in size when frying;
  3. Heat the frying pan and grease it a little with vegetable oil, then lay out the meat flatbread, lightly press it onto the surface of the pan with a spatula and fry for two to three minutes. Perform the same actions by turning the workpiece over;
  4. Let's make the sauce. Place mayonnaise on a saucer, add lemon juice, turmeric and paprika, then mix all ingredients thoroughly;
  5. Cut the bun in half and coat each part with dressing. Wait a little and let it absorb;
  6. Cut the cucumber and tomato into thin slices, tear the lettuce leaves into several pieces. Cut the onion into translucent rings;
  7. The burger is assembled in the following sequence: the bottom of the bun with sauce, then the patty. Next comes a square of cheese and a circle of tomato, cucumber and onion, a torn lettuce leaf and another slice of cheese are placed on them. The entire structure is covered with a bakery “hat”. It is better to eat the finished food right away, otherwise it will not be as tasty.

You can also make another original sauce, which includes the following components:

  • Sour cream – 200 g;
  • Sugar, salt, paprika and ground pepper - a teaspoon each;
  • 2 yolks from boiled eggs;
  • Vegetable oil, liquid smoke, vinegar - a tablespoon;
  • Mustard – 2 tablespoons;
  • Starch to give a thick consistency.

This amount of ingredients is designed to prepare a dressing for 6 burgers, which is made by mixing all the ingredients.

Sesame bun recipe

Of course, you can buy a burger bun at the supermarket. But the final taste of the entire dish depends on how correct the process of preparing the bun is. You don't want to sacrifice your gastronomic pleasure, do you?

If not, stock up on the following grocery kit:

  • 360 g wheat flour;
  • a glass of milk;
  • tbsp Sahara;
  • 3 g dry yeast;
  • third part tsp. salt;
  • chicken egg;
  • sesame seeds and tbsp. vegetable oil.
  • Yeast dissolves in lukewarm milk. All remaining ingredients (except sesame seeds) are added to the liquid, after which a fairly stiff dough is kneaded.
  • The container with the flour base is placed in heat for 40 minutes.
  • As soon as the volume of the mixture increases a couple of times, it will need to be divided into 8 identical lumps, each of which is rolled into a ball 10 cm in diameter. The latter needs to be flattened to a centimeter thickness.
  • Then the Big Tasty buns are placed on a baking sheet, which is best covered with baking parchment, and left warm until the initial volume increases.
  • The risen baked goods should be sprinkled with sesame seeds and baked for 20 minutes at a temperature of 200 degrees.

how to cook a cutlet

While the buns are baking, you can start making meat cutlets.

  • pepper;
  • salt;
  • kilogram of minced beef;
  • vegetable oil for frying.

What to do with all this:

  • Place the minced meat in a bag and roll it out with a rolling pin until the meat layer is a centimeter thick.
  • Using a round glass, cut cutlets approximately 10 cm in diameter from the beef layer. Salt, pepper and fry each one.

Homemade version of Big Tasty

You can prepare your own Big Tasty at home, because in essence it is an ordinary sandwich, so you can safely experiment with the ingredients.

For the sandwich, you can bake the buns yourself, or you can buy ready-made ones. Bun Boys buns work best for this burger.

There are four of them in the package, so the ingredients are calculated for four servings.

Ingredients:

  • half a head of iceberg lettuce;
  • two tomatoes;
  • large onion;
  • 12 squares Hohland cheeseburger cheese;
  • 650 g minced meat (beef);
  • 110g bacon (optional)

Ingredients for the sauce:

  • 1 tsp. mustard;
  • 0.5 tsp each apple cider vinegar, granulated sugar and liquid smoke;
  • 20 ml ketchup (tomato);
  • three tablespoons of mayonnaise (light).

The original version of Big Tasty does not include the use of bacon, but if you want to add a little smoky flavor, then simply cut this ingredient into small pieces and mix with the minced meat along with a spoonful of salt and half a teaspoon of black pepper. If bacon is not added, you will need to use a little more salt.

Cooking method:

  1. To make the minced meat more elastic and the cutlets not to fall apart during frying, it needs to be beaten. Simply take each portion and throw it as hard as you can onto your work surface to remove any unnecessary air.
  2. We make four cutlets from the minced meat, one centimeter thick and with a diameter commensurate with the bun.
  3. Fry the cutlets on both sides for about five minutes.
  4. We cut the tomatoes into slices, chop the onion into half rings, you can simply tear the salad with your hands. Mix all ingredients for the sauce, adding a pinch of salt and black pepper.
  5. We divide the buns into halves, dry each one in a frying pan, but only without oil.
  6. Apply sauce to the top of the bun, then add onion, lettuce, and tomato. Then comes a square of cheese, a cutlet, another slice of cheese and the second part of the bun. Lightly press the burger and flip it over.

Putting it all together

Knowing the composition of Big Tasty and having prepared all its elements yourself, you can begin assembling the burger. There will be eight of them, of course, if you did not initially double the amount of ingredients.

So, for one serving you will need:

  • one sesame bun;
  • one beef cutlet;
  • Iceberg lettuce leaf;
  • Emental cheese;
  • onion rings and tomato circles;
  • Grill sauce.

These ingredients are collected together in a certain sequence. First, each bun is cut in half, placed cut sides on a grill pan, and lightly toasted.

Then all the other ingredients are placed on one of the slices, and only in this order:

  • generous layer of sauce;
  • a pair of large diameter onion rings;
  • lettuce leaf, pre-torn by hand;
  • a couple of slices (it’s easier to take slices) of tomato;
  • cheese;
  • cutlet;
  • cheese.

Then the whole thing is covered with a second bun. Big Tasty is ready!

Calorie content of the dish

The calorie content of a real Big Tasty is no less than 880 Kcal, which gives a person a long-lasting feeling of fullness.

The creators of the burger claim that it brings with it only one benefit, since the composition is of exclusively natural origin.

For example, the same beef from which cutlets are made, although high in calories, is rich in proteins, minerals, amino acids and vitamins. Onions and tomatoes give the dish a fresh and “summer” taste at any time of the year, thereby uplifting your mood, while cheese replenishes calcium reserves in the body.

As for the harm, it lies in the increased concentration of carbohydrates and fats, covering 43% of the daily requirement of the human body for such. This means that Big Tasty is not the best choice for daily snacking and satisfying hunger while dieting.
